MAM Email
Hi
I received an email today inviting me to attend an assessment day for MAM. I printed out the registration form and it said for Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne. I emailed them back because I am from Perth and asked if this was right. I got another email this afternoon saying yes because they only had assessment centres in those states. I thought that MAM had FA's in Perth?? Did Perth FA's at MAM fly over East for their interview??? I am confused.
Thanks

Jodie, I too am in PER and also received the MAM email.
MAM held a Assesment day in PER not long ago, and did recruit from that day, so they simply may not have any PER based positions going at the moment.
I did consider going to the East Coast, even to experience the day, but money is a little tight at the moment...
So yes, there are MAM people in Perth, I chat (well he might say bother... lol) occaisonally with one friendly one, and from what I hear it is a pretty friendly place to work!

Jb_flyer, bother isn't the word, i am happy to answer questions, if you can't ask you don't get answers, i know what its' like to be in your shoes!!!
I am a PER based MAM casual and it is going really well!!!!!! From what i have heard there will be more casuals coming to Perth in November, but again this is rumour, but it wouldn't surprise me. At the moment there are only 10 casuals in Perth and 6 more currently in training in Melbourne. The 6 going through training now had their interviews done in Perth, the 10 that are already there, we had our interviews about two years ago in Perth, it was all done through Qantas and had nothing to do with MAM until they called a year after being on the shortlist offering us a MAM position, some of us hadn't even heard of MAM until the job offer was there!!!! Things have changed since then obviously. It is a little wierd inviting you to casual interviews interstate though!!!! Up to you though, i guess it depends on how much you want the job!!!
If you have any questions, just pm me

Biscuit Chucker, I understand your comment, and the requirement of "operational demand" having spent some time serving the nation. (And by that I dont mean at McDonalds).
You may have noticed that my post was a reply to a comment from jodiev1980 about people having to fly to the East for interviews, and I was simply answering her question about if there are any MAM people in PER.
I do want to fly. However, 10 hours of flying for half a day of assesment, at a minimum cost of $500, less then 1 days notice of the date/time of interview, and then to have the job possibly offered as a casual in a city far from mortgage and newly settled life, is not a balanced equation.
For a full time job, it would tip the scales back toward the Yes vote. And obviously once in the job, transfer is part of it all, as it was when we deployed overseas on short notice.

OK, with all the tensions happening on other posts from Long Haul crew i kinda mis-interpreted your comments.
I get the distinct impression that QF management are not making any frineds amongst the staff base, only amongst the board and shareholders...
However I still want to work for them? Would somebody explain that logic to me??? (lol)
As for a keyboard with tone, I invented that this afternoon while changing the cartridge in the printer.
(Oh TONE not TONER... oopsies)

OZ,
At last - my question is answered....
Have always wondered, on seeing CC coming off the planes in PER, whether any are Pruners. Now I know...
Sky
(the non-flyer who watches jealously as crew get on those lovely shiny A330s.... and 737s...oh and all right, even the 146's!
