A couple of cabin crew and one Air Atlanta Europe Manager. They are sure Excel crew won't be very happy about it.

you bet right the cc wont be happy!!!

The 767 300 is TF registered and therefore leased by Air Atlanta Icelandic, so surely it will be AAI crew who do the flights. I know that as excel cxrew, we cannot fly on both AAI and AAE aircraft, we are trained on one or the other and i'm told its the same for AA

TF / G

Staff from AAE can operate on any company aircraft regardless of the TF or G reg, or whether it is AAI or AAE.

Several of the MAN based AAE crew have operated on the G reg Virgin aircraft based there, and a full LGW crew has also operated a football charter on G-VSSS.

I also believe that some AAE crew operated an adhoc for BY few weeks back on the Excel G reg 762.

I thought that the 767-300 was going on the G- reg in November anyway. It seems strange to change cabin crews to AAE/AAI when Excel have just trained most of their crews on the XL One service etc. We also have a 2nd 763 arriving shortly.

I have just found out in the last couple of days that rostering is going to give these flights to AAE. and i also heard that 67 crew members (about seven full crew) will be operating for excel after the contract for AAE because travel city flights will almost stop and the AAE crew will be doing the caribean for the whole winter as well as the Haj.

Approx 90% of hajj crew are recruited locally in the Mid East for Jeddah, and locally for other bases such as Algiers and Jakarta.

Last year from approx 550 cabin crew based in Jeddah, about 25 where from LGW/MAN.

If only someone from rostering could post and put all these rumours to rest. But where to find such a knowledgable person....

If anyone knows...

Meanwhile, back at the coalface....

No you're all wrong. There has been some discussion about putting AAE cabin crew on the Daallo CDG Djibouti flights to save the cost of getting MAN crew positioned to LGW each time.As the Travelcity Direct contract runs down (because of poor technical performance),the AAE people will have nothing to do..unless they all go back to European, who are rumoured to be taking the Travelcity contract back.Anyway, putting AAE crew onto Excel planes would produce a terrible colour clash between their uniforms and the Excel headrest covers...just think about it..commercial suicide sweetie!
(and I know this is true 'cos two baggage loaders and an Airlinks carpark bus driver told me)

excel

if the case is

-that excel are operating all of their own winter work which is understandable to me with aircrafts, crew etc, why has an atlanta 747 been painted with excel livery at Gatwick?

there's lots of rumours about whos doing what and atlanta losing the travel city contract to european (which i doubt very much) its a shame airlines keep good crew hanging on as to whether they've got a job for the winter. I wish theyd just tell excel/atlanta crew whats going on!!!!!

That a-c

Think people have seen one of the a-c that was on the Olympic Torch flight with some blue left on the tail fin which for those blessed with below average sight, may look at a distance like partial Excel livery..

A-c is Tf-ARO and is currently in LGW

Ive seen a pic of the so called 747 in excel livery, its a cheap fake im sure of it!

The livery is the same colours of all the other excel aircraft but it actually says Excel airways on the side instead of excelairways.com, it just doesnt look right

I think someones gone to the trouble of sitting on paint shop pro using a photo off of airliners.net or something! I will try and hunt down the picture

Also every trainer i've spoken to have said that no way is excel getting a 747, alot of air atlanta pilots are saying that its never going to happen

Who knows, im sure we'll see soon!

Excel have indeed bought TCD, or to be more precise the parent company. Happened about a month ago.
