There is on their Japanese page, which suggests that they are looking for Japanese speakers/readers (which I am not, so I can't be sure what it says).

Hi there,

I have found from living in Tokyo, that when the airlines recruit outside their country / local base then they are generally seeking applicants that are fluent in the language of the country they are recruiting in.

E.G Singapore ailrines advertised in Tokyo for Japanese flight attendants. This seems to be common with the asian airlines.

So if JAL are advertising for Hong Kong based flight attendants, I believe they would be wanting Cantonese speakers.

Hope this helps.

Well yes, you would think so. But the JAL HK site is offered in 3 langauges (English, Japanese & Chinese) and both the English & Chinese sites say they are not recruiting; only the Japanese one has details. It may well be of course that what they want is people who can speak Japanese and Chinese.
