Qatar Airways

Applied about two months ago to Qatar Airways (cabin crew position). When I rang them after many weeks of waiting because I thought my application had gone missing, they said the interview had been postponed (until when they didn't know).

What to do? I guess I can only wait....

Mate,

If you havent heard anything it can only be a blessing in disguise...trust me, you do not want to work for this airline! Just ask your country fellows who have a tendency to jump ship in Manila when on layovers!!!!

Try one of the local airlines, I'm sure you will have a ball with them!

Well, I wouldn't mind to have a go with QR despite what most people are saying, but I appreciate your concern though!

Hi
Dont do it. Listen to what is being said and heed the warnings. You will be happy and carefree once you stay clear of QR.

You guys are known as very hard workers but if you want to feel free and enjoy your time, i would suggest heading for EK and stay well clear of QR.

Should you head to Doha and realise all that has been said was true and decied to try out EK, then you will be disappointed to find you cant. Once you work for QR it disqualifies you even applying for EK for at least 6 months.

Anyway, at the end of the day the choice is yours. The money has improved but as I ran away last year I cant say what the current salary is. I would strongly recommend that you rethink the QR route. The company and some crew will make life difficult by way of power tripping on the week and new.

Best of luck

Dont go for QR

Working for QR was the worst mistake I have ever made - You feel like every day is your last. There is no job security at all, lots of back stabbing and demotions and terminations. Poor morale, poor working conditions etc, etc.

Be very wary of the snake Saliya and the hitman himself: Akbar

hey nuigini,

take heed dear! apply for Etihad,EK or any other airlines.

i know amidst the excitement of trying out for an airline could make you wanna brush aside the discouraging aspects of it. 90% of the flyers here have said the same THING about QR.

many who stayed on are doing so because of the money and the hassle of applying for another job while living in doha. trust me, they are not a happy lot. always in fear of being the next one to get the CHOP. morale is low.

take a chance on majority of feedbacks you've got and read from this forum. apply for another airline, where you can at least have a peace of mind.

QR is not the only airline where you stand a chance. bury this trap and look elsewhere for your future's sake!

Talking Reply to Lem me

Thank you so much.
We were beside ourselves trying to think of how we could find out were he was staying.

Any knowledge of MEL as one of us is in MEL and I am in SYD.
We want to each see him.

This site is the best!

Is QR doing the interviews themselves or through a recruitment agency?

Good luck to all of you who will be attending!

Lucky for the male wanabe crew.

Since they are not looking for any male crew, may i sugest they stand outside and warn off the females going in. There are other jobs and airlines. Dont let your ladies be taken. They will never be the same again.

Fly Away!!!
