Argusmoon,

what about Syd/Mel/Bne to FRA, FCO or anywhere else in Europe.

QF are of course looking at ULTRA long range aircraft like the 777LR and A340 500.

Given the success QF are having with shorthaul crew operating regionally they must be champing at the bit for more of the same.

Quite frankly I am just a little tired of the attacks being made on short haul on here. As I have said before the regional flying was sold to us as a joint venture to be shared between both divisions.

If you want someone to blame for the mess your now in with the overseas cap and the airbus flying, blame your fellow crew that voted up your last EBA not short haul crew or our union.

Funny how L2P has been banned but other people who personally attacked me are still around!

Galleyhag - I don't think anyone is attacking short haul. The way the last EBA was sold/forced was a disgrace. I was in short haul so saw what happened. Next EBA remind crew to read and understand exactly what you are voting on. Having a clause such as short haul doing regional flying is fine, if the finer points have been worked out and put to paper. Unfortunately the short haul union came to us with an incomplete EBA and asked crew to vote Yes.

Remember that although the individual reps in the union aren't being paid they are working for a group that we pay money to. They should have come to us with a complete EBA.

If any crew don't understand clauses in the next EBA make sure questions are asked and feel free to call the long haul EBA for an impartial point of view.

You are right the long haul crew did vote in a crap EBA last time. Again the reps running the union then should not have been there. They let something slip through the net which should have been fought three years ago.

Argusmoon - I am looking forward to ultra long haul - London to Sydney in 19hrs and I'll be home. No more dreadful SIN for 48hrs!!! can't stand the place.

I doubt short haul crew would be happy about doing that type of flying though. They are only excited about doing Asian flying at the moment because its something different and they can buy duty free. From what I hear there is already a lot of sick leave on the trips and airport reserves forgetting passports.

Come to think of it long haul crew couldn't do ultra long range either as it would be outside of the EBA. They might create a new division...where do I sign?

Galleyhag,

sorry.
Didn't mean to offend.

Just pointing out the "difficulties" QF is experiencing trying to play one division off against another.

All of us here know full well who the enemy is and it isn't each other.

We have all been lied to once too often by those running the rat.

Once again. No offense intended.

Ok That's It!

I'm sorry for those of you that chose to take a genuine interest in this thread, but it has now become more of a chore to moderate than a pleasure.

Good Luck to all in QF during these difficult times - If you're going to fight them, you'll need to find yourselves rather more adult advocates than the various problem posters that have posted here so regularly.

The thread is now closed. I'm pretty sure that most of you will understand why this regrettable action has been taken.
