bmi + Night stops?
Hi all
Just wondering if the crew based at LHR nightstop much if at all? How many nitestops per month do you get? where do you nightstop? And whats the longest trip you can do?
Also anyone know how much if they still do, pay for Languages?
Thanx - T

Hi Thomas,
I used to work for BMI (and MON too!)... Night stops can vary, the situation may have changed but I worked for them 3yrs ago.
When you start working there, you can fill in a form and fax it to Rosters. On this form you can request little or no nightstops, or Max nightstops. I requested max nightstops.... I found myself away for most parts of the week.
I generally used to nightstop at MAN, DUB, EDI and AMS. I don't know if they still do, but they used to have a whistlestop tour of Europe, stopping at Rome, Brussels and Madrid which meant you were away 3 - 4 nights of the week.
They do pay for Languages like MON do.... but I can't remember the pay scale.
Personally I had a nicer time at MON, nicer trips as I was on the a330. If you are PERM crew at MON I would personally stay there, as I found BMI very tiring with up to 5 sector days.... Got on my nerves saying hello and goodbye that many times a day.
Anyway thats my view, BMI does have it's good points, but better the devil you know etc etc

Hi there thanx for your advice! Most helpful
I hope they still nighstop abroad now... are there any current crew out there who can confirm this?
I guess 5 sector days can be very tiring! But surely your ££££'s add up quickly that way?
Thanx again - T

bmi
hi!
I used to work an BMI i left only quite recently. Whilst training you can request either min, max, or no preference for nightstops. However this makes virtually no difference. The only nightstops abroad were amsterdam and brussels. So often did i hear crew complain about lack of nightstops, and if you dont wanna do a nightstop one night for whatever reason they wont let you swap. I got about one nightstop a week sometimes you might be lucky and get one night in ams then the next night in bru. I did loads of glasgow, edi and abd nightstops. I did really like bmi though i was just always very tired cos you work so hard - but i do miss it so im sure youll love it.
