I left because I was on the 5yr contract & was only offered flexi crew after. I'm sure it was in the pipe line when I said I was leaving then lo and behold about 2 months after I left it was announced to be full time contracts from June. Now I could have got a few facts wrong, so hopefully a current crew member will also post here!

PERMANENT CONTRACT
All current JAL Lon base are now on permanent contracts, (and now retire at 60yrs), which have came into effect on the 01JUN04. No more 5yr/3yr/1yr contracts. For new recruits this will also apply after you probation period. Permanent p/t is available for those crew who have completed 5yrs service or more. So good news all round for us and new entries.
Also pay structure has slighty changed see 747flyboy
