Recruiting for Cabin Crew now!!
£9000 basic for Junior £11000 basic for Senior plus £2 per hour flight pay.
That is just Cr@p!
You realy can earn more money in Burger King these days a Store Manager is on circa £22000.
Why do people bother becoming Cabin Crew any more?

Well said.. I couldn't agree more... I'm at 'EZY' & even our pay is better than that! Just got my P60 tax thingy & my bottom line from april last year to april this year was £20670, and to be honest I've not exactly been that busy, averaging between about 30 to 40 sectors a month, nightstops, positioning & commission which went up to 10% for each crew member back in november! We get paid per sector, which personally is better for me as we very rarely get excessive delays. As an example a single BFS (2 sectors) as a short sector with an 'hourly rate' airline at £2-00 per hour with a total duty time of approx. 4 hours = £8-00! Short sector pay at 'EZY' £11-10 x 2 sectors = £22-20 which is very nearly three times the 'hourly rate' paid airline! Bit of a difference? I'm not saying it's all fantastic here in orangeland, but perhaps some airlines should 'wake-up-and-smell-the-coffee' if you pay peanuts.....?

But even 20k a year is below the UK average especialy if you live in the South east of England. And I wonder how many hours you actualy worked in the past year I bet it was more than the average 40 hour week Paul?
The glamorous heydays of Long Stops in exotic places for a handsome pay are long gone so..
Once again I pose the question as to why anyone would bother becoming Cabin Crew these days?

But who really wants to work in BK or a menial job like that, this jobs like a vacation
Second: Your job may seem like one long vacation at LGW WW, not sure if all your colleagues would agree with you though. Certainly while there are long layovers in nice places for some people, if you think that everyone who is Cabin Crew is on one giant vacation, think again.
In my first 6 months at the then British Midland, I didn't get rostered one single nightstop. I worked (busy) 4 sector days repeatedly, 5 on 2 off, start on earlies, finish (usually) on lates. And if you didn't finish on lates, you were exhausted after 5 days in a row of getting up at 3.45am to be at work in time for your 6am check-in. Heard of sleep deprivation? Vacation? No, I think I 'earned' my wage thanks very much.
I think most people at BA EF, bmi, EZY, Ryanair and most of the shorthaul charters would agree with me.
And, to get back on topic, YES - I think 9k basic and GBP2 an hour flight pay is very low for SE England.

I believe that Ryanair Cabin Crew are required to make a financial contribution (i.e. more than 2K Euros) to their training costs - please correct me if I'm wrong. As long as people are effectively paying their employer for the priviledge of working for them, it seems unlikely that European Cabin Crew will ever earn better money.
