New MYT uniform?

Just wondering what people think regarding the new Mytravel crew uniform? Saw it for the first time today and it looks incredibly sexy with a bit of tan

On a Serious side it looks very professional and smart!

I honestly think that the MyTravel uniform is well smart.... Can't wait to get it on for the summer season.
I didn't mind the old one, but thought it was looking a bit dated.

I had my fitting a few weeks ago and i love it!! its well nice!!
Sorry tho guys - I aint got any pics of it, and it isnt on the website yet.... but you'll see it in an airport near you very soon!!!

The New uniform is very smart... Designed By Jeff Banks, it's very Pan-Am 1960's and heads do turn in the airports!!!!!!

It's definately a "Crew" unifrom... and creates a professional and stylish image Well Done MYT!!!!

Question

An airline that's losing money (approx £970 millon) Is it wise for an airline in it's position to be launching & paying for a new uniform. Hey, I'm not knocking anyones decision if it's the right thing to do, but 'cart' & 'horse' spring to mind?

Hi,
I have not yet seen the new MYT uniform. My cousin is Cabin Crew with MYT longhaul. Maybe I will see her in it soon?
For the people who have seen it - would you say it beets TCX's excellent uniform?

Thanks

It's the group as a whole not just the airline, that was making a loss, and we are turning ourselves around. but this topic has been covered many times before!! The new uniform was actually already budgeted for when we rebranded to MyTravel.

Thomas Cook - I think it's better than the TCX unifrom but then I would as I wear it!!!! - When in next I'll take picture for you guy's to see.

Have You Heard This

And your point is what exactly? Last time I checked MYT was now Charter and Schedule. Sound like a bit of a snob mate!

Propeller Paul

Me thinks you have already been put in your box but just to make sure! Give it a rest and change the record this thread is about a new uniform.

As it happens I have never been a big fan of MYT uniforms to date but this one is very stylish and the boys and girls look very smart.

Oh my god, you lot don't half get 'wound-up' about things don't you? sorry if I upset anyone, not my intention, just an observation! Not wishing to 'knock' anyone's passengers, but aren't MyTravel passengers complete scumbags, I've been in 'aviation' for a good few years now & even where I am now ( the future's bright, the future's orange!) the passengers are 'dead nice' & even I was quite surprised at how o.k. they are. I know a few crew at MyTravel & they're always slagging-off passengers, but then I suppose if you sell holidays at dirt-cheap prices, what do you expect? We're better than passengers though, aren't we? never mind, your uniform looks lovely, what more do you want?

kinsman,

My Travel Airways - Scheduled? - LOL!

No, sorry mate. BA is a scheduled airline, the marketing and image is TOTALLY different - not quite so HI-DI-HI!

Hi,
Just to clarify, MYT don't sell dirt cheap holidays. They have different marketing brands for different target audiences. As do operators like TUI and Thomas Cook.
For instance with Thomas Cook they have:

Sunset for basic holidays (cheap but not dirt cheap)
JMC for standard holidays
Thomas Cook and Thomas Cook Signature for higher quality holidays
Club 18-30 for lively holidays

Even with operators such as TUI's Just* brand who don't offer representatives, you don't have dirt cheap holidays it just depends on what your passengers backgrounds are.

Thanks

- I can say that ive flown with some sched airlines that are worse than charter airline!!

oh and "have you heard this"......
Sched isnt all its cracked up to be! much prefer charter!
and u no what annoys me most? all these sched snobs??? at the end of the day mate - you still serve the same tea and coffee as we do! why make it sound so special? is there the element of glam to sched that we all know DONT exsist?
and at end of the day if the airline you worked for (if u do actually work for one, if u do i think they wud b embarrased to hear u talk) went bust, then im sure all you SCHED SNOBS wud be applyin to all the LCC and charter carriers.... just to pay ya bills, so you could find ya self galley slave with the rest of us "charter" guys! God man! u shud hear yaself! lol makes me laff!!! its a job man for god sake!

I wasn't too keen on the uniform when i first saw it but i must admit i think it looks really smart now. Had quite a few comments on it the other day when we were passing through the terminal.

Cool

Propeller Paul.

Working for easyjet explains everything after all it is such a high-class airline! And of course the uniform just screams first class! To describe MYT passengers as scumbags says more about your view on society than anything else I fear. Most MYT passengers are just normal families looking for a good holiday and you will probably find them flying easyjet from time to time as well. Like every airline we get the odd one or two who should never be given a passport! But if you have been in the industry long enough you should already know this type of passenger is not confined to economy travel.

Just for the record not knocking easyjet who I consider a good operator and the uniform though bright is at least practical.

As for getting wound up, possibly, but when you make such crass comments what do you expect!

Our pax are the same as any other airlines all wanting the best deal for their 2 weeks in the sun, so I wouldn't say that makes them scumbags would you?

As for MyTravel selling cheap holidays, at the moment you can book a Thomson (TUI) holiday cheaper as they are offering upto 50% off!

And finally we do offer a scheduled low cost service from BHX, MyTravel Lite, so I would imagine we get similar pax to anyone flying for Easyjet, BMIbaby and Thomsonfly etc.
