Working for BA for past 11 yrs I am on an old contract and WW LHR, so I am one of the lucky ones in BA and they were the good old days for us all joining BA then good pays etc.
As far as people now comming into BA its just the same as going into any other airline really, we do have probs an issues and are do have money problems, but then tell me of an airline out there that hasnt !
It depends who you want to work for and if asked if you work for, lots of people like to say, " oh I work for BA " they have a thing for it some people even say it when they dont, and thats their choice if it means something to them inside.
For people that are of higher grades in other airlines and on £16000 as basics lets say then its prob just as good there as your basic with us as new entrant is £9500 ish but at LHR SH you can double that easily but then u work hard and are only just back to your original basic wage after all the hours you put in.
BA are a great company and people sometimes apply every year for anything from 2 - 10 yrs wanting to get in, generaly most do get in, on the long run to.
At the end of the day only you yourself can make the final decission if you should move from another carrier into BA, we can all give you our comments but its your happiness that will count to your overall at the end of the day.
