cabin crew courses/cabincrewdirect
Has anybody done a CC course? Do you think they help/increase your chances? What about the E course on cabin crew direct? Is it worth £150?
any input would be great!

I did one of these 1day courses when I was 20, didn't know anyone in aviation and had absolutely no idea about what the role of cabin crew is and what it entailed.
I would say that there a lot of crew and ex crew on here who could give you all the information you need rather than spend a lot of money on a course. I have done a bit of cabin crew recruitment in the UK and was crew for a few years, so if you need any more info, I can help you out.

I also did one of those courses when I was 20 (are we more gullible then?)
I knew nothing about aviation then but had been a travel agent for a couple of years.
The course did give pointers on interviews, grooming and general behaviour
however...
I agree with exmax, you can probably learn at least as much from others here.
I've now been in aviation for 11 years and will also offer any assistance
Basically if you have no experience at all
Get experience of customer service, restaurant, hotel, travel agency, anything that gives you contact with the public
(Ticketing is always good as it helps your knowledge)
First aid training or nursing experience still goes down well
and languages always help (not always a requirement for interview these days - but invaluable in the job)
For the interview, dress smartly in a suit (skirt if female) try and wear a similar style / colour to the company, it helps them see you in the uniform
Make up should be subtle and colours that compliment the uniform can help
Always be aware of your actions, whether in a formal or informal area, I've heard of one person not getting the job because they carelessly let a door slam in someone's face when leaving a room!
Anything else don't hesitate to ask

I did cabin Crew training externaly and have been benifited greatly.they always carry extra weight at job assesments and although it is not a must, Air lines would rather hire people with knowledge of the industry, than having to train from A to Z.

Miss B I worked for a airline training company quite a number of years ago (around 10 I think) and I can honestly say that I think the course is only beneficial if you don't know anyone that works in aviation that can give you a insight into the job and lifestyle.
Otherwise I really do think that it is a waste of money doing the course. The type of stuff we were teaching people included 3 letter codes, the 24 hour clock etc etc And this is all stuff that will be covered on the inital training course anyway!!
