Accommodation nr Gatwick urgently needed!

I start at Gatwick on monday 5th january and as yet have no short term accommodation when i start. Im looking for something within commuting distance for a while untill i find a permanent fixture.
B&Bs i've tried seem to want a fortune, first week of jan is busy?
If anyone can help or can recommend somewhere i would be gratefull.

We are trying to avoid the use of pprune as an ad board. But we know how useful this would be to all. Flapsforty has had a good idea some time ago for accommmodation type ads, but it has to be worked out. Meantime, we found the "escamotage" of using The Big BA Thread...Please stick to that topic for accommodation around London. I've never merged so many thread like since BA started recruiting
