Fleet Reduction @ GB?

John Patterson (MD) is releasing a statement on the 1st Dec 2003. Word has it that it is to announce the early retirement of the B737 fleet. As this would result in a decrease in capacity, it seems to tie in with the fact that certain cabin crew are being approached and offered "job share" working.

Anyone know anything else on the subject?

You could take a couple of A319's from BA to cover the shortfall. Here at BA we see that GB can only take more routes in the future so I can see your concern.

Fleet reduction at GB

I don't quite understand the last post. Are you implying that by reducing aircraft numbers and asking cabin crew to 'jobshare' that the others will be working that much harder? Don't you think GB management would have budgeted for such a fleet reduction if it was planned?
