Question for all Qatar/Ek crews....

Hey everybody..

I have a quick question for anyone who currently flies for Qatar or EK....I am an American male, 22 living in the Washington D.C. area...I presently fly for an airline based in New York and have been flying internationally since I was 19. I am seriously interested in exploring EK and/or Qatar Airways at the suggestion of a dear friend of mine who flies for JAL and has heard great things about both companies...I have sent my CV and photographs via postal mail to both companies and have heard nothing back from either one in over quite some time. For starters, do either one of these airlines even consider U.S. Citizens for shortlisting?? Do any of you know whether or not there are presently any US Citizens flying for either company?? I was told that EK has plans to start service to New York JFK, which I would imagine would open up doors for recruitment efforts stateside. This appears to be an excellent opportunity and I would be obliged to relocate to either Doha or Dubai to fulfill such a venture, but I'm beggining to feel like my citizenship is getting me nowhere fast...

Any thoughts from current EK or QT crew would be really appreciated!!! Thank you so much!

You know, I think America is the one place you might have problems with when it comes to finding work with EK/QR.

Now, this is just from memory so bits of information MAY be a little inaccurate, but I thought I would share anyway.

I believe that getting a temp residency visa for an American to live in QR or the UAE is the most difficult temp res visa you can apply for. Any other country is pretty much OK, but as there are so many Americans already in these countries with the Oil, there have been limits placed on immigration.

I would suggest emailing Qatar and Emirates and I actually have an email address at home for someone who deals solely with recruiting cabin crew for the airline.

I'll provide this when I go home!

Regards

try:

good luck...

but if you earn at least 1500 dollars stay there... here you'll earn less except accomodation is paid for.... around a 1000 you can expect to save after food clothes and other personal expenses.

Had one African american girl flying for us.

My friends say, there are about 6 US crew with EK.

Go for EK!!!
never even consider QR! working for Mc-Donnalds would be better option instead!!

Good Luck!!
