I have heard that Etihad is the newest national airlines of UAE that will be launch at the end of this year. This is the news taken from Gulf News
And this is the recruitment advertisement for cabin crew position in Thailand. (From Bangkok Post Newspaper, October 10, 2003)
Now I have heard that Etihad has already contacted some applicants for the interview last week and asked them to wait for the phone call. Many people here still wait for the call. These are all information I have
Etihad Airways to take off from Abu Dhabi
Etihad Airways, the new airline from Abu Dhabi, will take to the skies this month, top officials said yesterday. The airline, fully owned by the Abu Dhabi government, will launch commercial operations with two leased aircraft.
It plans to add more aircraft shortly.
"We plan to start operations by end-October to some destinations," Captain Werner Borchert, Vice President - Operations and Technical, told Gulf News after the airline's first board meeting chaired by its Chairman, Dr. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan.
"The airline will begin operations with two aircraft, both A330-200 leased aircraft. More aircraft will be added later," he said.
The new airline is capitalised at Dh500 million and will be headquartered in Abu Dhabi.
It is authorised to open offices and branches outside the emirate.
The airline was created under a decree issued by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The management of the company presented an outline operating plan for the airline for its initial 15 months, including the launch of Etihad Airways, together with details of on-board product specifications and marketing plans.
The board members present at yesterday's meeting included Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Fares Mohammed Al Mazroui, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh and Saeed Hafeez Al Mazroui.
Besides being an equity partner in Gulf Air, Abu Dhabi has an official aviation company.
But its activities are confined to domestic services and cargo operations.
In addition it has the recently launched Royal Jet, an upmarket charter jet service.
