Excel Airways Questions?
Thinking of applying to Excel Airways and just have a (few!) questions.
What bases do they have crew at? i know of LGW, MAN, NCL and GLA.
What are they like for salary/flight pay?
Do you get trained on 737/757 and 767?
Is there a chance of direct entry senior?
What are the chances of getting made permanent?
What are the rosters like, is it all there and backs to europe or is there any trips/nightstops?
Thanks, hope someone can fill me in!

Hi there.
Excel only base crew at MAN, LGW and GLA. There is talk of temporary bases at BHX and NCL next summer, but nothing is confirmed.
Junior salary, approx. £9200 pa, FDP £2 per hour, taxable at 66%. Bar comission about 10% regardless of whether you achieve target.
737 are operated by Excel, the 757/767 are operated by Air Atlanta, all three bases this summer were trained on all a/c, but there was no 737 based at GLA.
Direct entry purser - think you need 5 years exp, and only if no one available in-house to be promoted, direct entry assistant purser, same, but only need 3 years.
Permanency usually after two seasons, but some MAN folk are on their 3rd
Rosters good, usually on-time 99% back to back with the odd ad-hoc nightstops, mostly in UK but a few downroute
Hope this helps!
