just dont look too surprised if they tell you youll be unloading 1.5 tonnes from a hold, and then loading 1.5 tonnes back into the hold, in the space of 20mins.
at QF??? don't think so, Virgin maybe, never seen a QF turn around in 20 mins, DJ do it all the time though!!!

since when did qf start employing people, i thought they were trying to reduce staff numbers...

Maybe things are a bit slow up there in Darwin but here in Brisbane you will ofter see 15 to 20 min turnarounds.

Must be why we are Australia's best.

umm... AO are actually recruiting at the moment... if you want to be a flight attendant with them why dont you just apply?
AO and QF are totally seperate companies, there is no transfer option (that i know of) to start as ground staff with QF then transfer to cabin crew with AO. so really, you are applying for a job that wont really help you except boost your customer service skills.

good luck anyway!

ranja - i would be keeping my trap shut regarding wanting to be a f/a during the qf ground staff interview if i was you. Becoming ground staff for qf is no guarantee to becoming a f/a with australian, as they (AO) have their own unique culture which is different to QF. I would be focusing on your commitment to wanting to work for QF and also being aware of our very serious and well known policies around the whole qf work place of "SAFE" [SAFE AIRLINE FOR EVERYONE] and our new saying " Customers FIRST - Safety ALWAYS "

blondebomb747 - I am sure that DJ are the best at unloading a nil freight 737 in 20 min, but I am also CERTAIN that QF are the best at unloading much bigger 767 and A330 aircraft within similiar timings !

QF Skywalker

Your post threw me a bit. I would rarely have anything good to say about DJ but was making a positive comment about Qantas. Check your glasses.

blondebomb - my mistake sorry - apologies !

I thought you were having a go at QF by saying that DJ were the best airline for being able to unload an a/c in 20min ! I was just coming to QF's defence ( as per usual !) by making it clear that we have bigger aircraft !

apologies

Ranhja - another tip, i'm not trying to be a b*tch because I know that my spelling is horrible when I am on the internet but you might want to pay just a little more attention to your spelling on the application form and hand written tests as this will be examined during your ground staff interview.
