Wearing old uniform Monday 22nd

Hi guys,

Just wandering if anyone will be wearing the 'old Australia Post' print Monday..... launch date...... with me!

I just called Dowd (4.15pm Friday 19/09) and my uniform has not been shipped as yet and I am totally unavailable over the weekend!

So I shall be the goof in the old uniform ruining it for Qantas.....

Cheers,

Pushback,

Looks like I will be wearing the old uniform with you. My uniform was meant to be collected today, but now I am told that It will be ready Sunday evening. Talk about cutting it fine! I do not hold much hope, that I will get it then, and if I do, I am guessing that it will be all incorrect sizes, so I am prepared to wear the old one on launch day too.

I still can not understand how many orders are incorrect. How difficult can it be to put "correct" items of clothing in a box, seal it up and put a name on it? Is it really that difficult?

Did Dowd advise as to why it has not been shipped to Syd as yet? I know mine is late, due to a late fitting.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry to much, and you are not ruining it for QF at all. We have worn the old uniform with postal pride for years, so another few days won't hurt. Must say, it's going to look funny if we are flying on the 300, and one is wearing the new and one the old uniform!

Oh well-not our problem!

received a phone call today and was told today that uniform cutover is not happening monday, everyone is advised to come to work in old uniform.
That was what i was told, but you would hope there will be some sort of announcement or millions of calls being made before monday... otherwise it will look a bit silly with employees wearing half and half.

I'm another one who will be in the old uniform, i have my new uniform right here, but due to just coming off "mat leave". It doesn't fit. I organised with DOWD weeks ago for my exchange items , and today i got the usual response, that it has not even been processed, due to lack of stock.... nice one.

shesgreatinthegalley- who told you that we are to wear the old one on Monday???? My base manager told me today that we wear the old one until the new one arrives, so we will be a mixed bag by the sounds of things!

I think they should make it that until we all get it no one wears it!!!

I just finished work tonight at 2000hrs and saw both my managers today at work and not one thing was said about not wearing the new uniform on monday. I also got my new nametag/wings today so as far as I am concerned I am wearing the uniform on monday. I can't wait to get out of this baggy thing !

I'm wearing mine on monday, no-one has told me otherwise so that's what I'll do !

Myyyyy Skywalker...how we change our spots! I seem to recall a certain Link Chick squealing with delight the day he got his 'baggy thing' uniform!

Remember - she's served you VERY well on the Gladstone and Cairns services (all stops to BILOEEEEELA/THANGOOOOOOOOL and BAR-CAAAAL-DIIIIIIIIIIIIINE) - give old uniform a salute before you don the new kid on the block! She's helped make you look pretty for a while now!

Well that answers it for everyone - if you have it, wear it. If you don't, wear the old one until you get all your bits of the new one!

It would seem there was a bit of a bungle when it came to informing the Regional airlines of their uniforms. Impulse had a whole team ready to go and administer the new uniforms...5 days ago they were told "Why haven't your crew been picking up their uniforms?" - when the whole time, Impulse was waiting on Qantas to tell them when to collect the uniforms. Successive emails to Qantas didn't go anywhere as they got closer to cutover date!

Someone will hang for this me thinks...this has been HOW long in preparation, and to have it all go pearshaped for 1000 odd crew (not including those in mainline who are still without uniforms!) at the last minute...oh well! Like you said cloudy...not our problem dear!

Just as I thought...

My new uniform is no where to be found. Uniforms have no idea when it will be in, I just have to keep calling each day. ( like I have nothing better to do! but anyway.....)

So it seems as though I shall be wearing the old, Australia post / Target / Big W / look a like for a few more days!

Congratulations QF staff !

Well I was one of the first swanning through the terminal this morning wearing my new uniform and did a few sectors through different airports....would have to say that EVERYONE LOOKED FABULOUS - ground staff and flight attendants young and old looked amazing, everyone had a certain glow about them and it really did show. I even noticed some of our more mature plus size mainline f/a's in fresh make-up products and had applied what was said in the runway guide - they looked great.

Everyone honestly looks great, it was so great to see how excited and motivated everyone looked ! I had heaps of mainline f/a's give me the big wave and wink and the compliments were returned - we all look like "one" now and I personally couldn't be happier !
