confusion?

I could be wrong as I'm not sure how reliable your source is but there may be some confusion(you know how that chinese whispers game goes)..this is what I know for SURE...
I have an interview along with many others in the next couple of weeks(it was a topic posted some weeks ago)with base managers etc in Melbourne,Syd and Brisbane,but it is an "informal'interview for people like myself who have been on short-list for at least a year(I have been on it for 15mths!)-the purpose of this is for QF to "touch base" with us,add anything new we have done into our file and ascetain whether we are still motivated to work for them(just in case some have changed their mind,lost interest,or gone to another airline????),we then get another short-list letter extended for another 6mths-two friends from Brisbane recently had their interview and shortly after received an extension on the short-list until next Feb!I guess it's very much a positive doing this to keep us on the short-list rather than remove us as they have done in the past with some others...Maybe this is not the rumour you heard but I'm guessing that's where it came from??
And, no,according to QF HR ,they would not interview externals prior to calling short-listers-hope this helps.

Oh my Gosh!!! 15 months! I don't think I'll ever complain agian about my short 7 months on the list! It's good they interview you again after all that time...Would bring back a little of the excitment I felt while I was going through the interview process.
