I'm in the 26th of september, waiting now to see when they approve my medicals. Hope I won't have to resend something as I only uploaded the haemoglobine count and did not put the full blood count as all do :)) but they request only the haemoglobine so it shouldn't be wrong. Otherwise, I signed the waiver!

Their website has - Open Day 10 Sept, no mention of any AD in Melbourne before Nov.

Mohcri I have september 5th as my DOJ, nothing has changed. I actually sent a request to push back my starting day for a week or so but it was rejected.

Golden Call!
 

I received my Golden Call on Saturday night (around 12:30am ET)---YAY! My DOJ is November 14 (that's when I fly to Dubai) but I believe I will be in the training group that starts the following week. I really appreciated their totally flexible with meeting my needs.

Also, for those waiting for the GC... The HR department emailed me to say they had attempted to contact me a few times. It turns out that they had the wrong number for me all along (and for some reason were not using the cell phone I provided?). Anyway, point is that they reached out to me. And for those waiting, they have not forgotten you. Now that I have logged into the portal and can see all of the things that now must be processed, I understand why there may be back up. Keep hope. NO NEWS IS STILL GOOD NEWS.

For my NY friends, I feel confident that there are some calls on the way! The status changes and emails are a great sign!

Here is a recap of the dates/times of contact from Emirates:

OD/AD: May 28-29 in NY
FI: May 30
"Approval In Progress": July 21
Grooming Email: August 16
"You will be contacted": August 17
GC: August 20
DOJ: November 14

TOTAL TIME: 2 months and 20 days from FI to GC.

Hey guys, first time posting but I have been reading for a while.
I am currently 20 years of age and it has an Open Day in Trindad on September 10. I am going to it but Im hoping I dont get any problems since im not 21 yet. I will be on January 8th 2012. But I was thinking that the process may take a while from final interview to flying, so I might be 21 when everything is completed including training. What do you think???

The grooming email it is a declaration form, you have to mention if you have tatoo, the location, the form etc and you have to sign and send it.
By signing this document, you declare that you understand the Emirates Image and Uniform regulations.

I received it 1 week after my FI, some have it 3 weeks or more after their FI. It can be shorter or longer. to receive this email it's a good sign.

well I, as well as the girls who were with me at FI did not receive any grooming mail, any of us! ever..! maybe because we signed it at the FI? was it the one with the image and the OK GO or NO GO stuff on a human body?

yes I think we're talking about the same thing.

Well I've heard that some people filled it at the Fi, so I think it's depends on the recruiters, like for the Psychometrics test, some do, others do not

thatsoph, Rational12 yes, I agree! Honesty is the best policy... at least it gives you a clean consciousness ;)

ntello you can check your status in the EK application page, if you applied online for the OD. (if you didn't don't worry, it isn't mandatory).
The test thing doesn't affect your result if you took it or not.

funnyrose the AGE issue was discussed thousands of times here, if you care to read a little bit back, you have an answer to that. In a few words if your country is not too competitive, you should be fine turning 21 in a few months after the OD. In any case you have to be that age before flying (this is because that is the legal age to serve alcohol in the UAE)

In the OD that I attended, anyone who was under 21 was sent away. Plus I believe you said that you turn 21 in January...well the time from interview to DOJ they want to be within 3-6 months, no later than 6. At the AD the RO's were very specific about our age. If someone was not 21 at the interview then they were asked to leave.
