someone said 20 push ups..... is it even possible for female?????

I thought the same thing, I tried this morning and i could do only 1/2 push ups. I couldn't all the way to the ground. Seems crazy!

Hi, sorry it seems my reply didn't go through. I received a call on Wednesday from Qantas again asking if I verbally accept this offer, confirming if I can start ground school and if I have any holidays in the next 6 - 12 months etc. Then she said she will send in the contract in the next couple of days and that I will receive another e-mail after this phone call to upload further documentation. The documents I will need to upload are my first aid, RSA and a water competency certificate where I will need to be assessed to swim 50m unaided and tread water for 3 mins from a certified lifeguard.

And for the medical test, yes they will ask you to do 20 pushups as well as 20 sit ups, 3 squats, lift up 25kg/32kg, plank on one side etc. It was like a full on PT sesh. Hope this helps!

I am so so excited for you! This is amazing news.
Can't wait to hear all about it.

totally freaking out about the medical though haha

Where are you based?

Hi, thanks for sharing an information here.
But I just wonder.. are you a male gender??
I'm just concern about 20 push ups...
cuz I don't think it is even possible for female....

i'm a female.. haha don't worry, i only did 3 pushups and dropped to the floor. i don't think it matters if you fail to do pushups but of course do the best you can. they just want to see how fit you are. it'll be a worry if you failed to lift 32kg because that's part of the job etc

How high did you have to lift the 32kg? Just curious, if its over shoulder height I better get training.

23kg - lift barbell to waist and then over the head, two times
32kg - lift weights in dugglebag to waist, two times

Really?? That is extremely heavy and unsafe weight to be made to lift over your head unaided. I don’t know when you would ever be made to lift that amount over your head In the role (it’s why hand luggage has a limit of 7-9kg) I was previously an international flight attendant for Qantas and my medical was nothing like this, this sounds more like a fitness test? My medial, was like a regular medical check up, BP check, drug test, BMI, ECG, hearing test these kind of things. They did make sure you could lift 23kg because that’s how heavy the emergency exit is. I am really surprised they are making people do this now it seems a bit intense now.

Also received xref email on Friday afternoon.. It did go to my junk email though so for anyone who hasn't heard anything, maybe check your junk emails too :)
Anyone have any idea on time frames for references, security, medical and US visa to go through before being offered GS or is this different for everyone? Just trying to figure out what sort of GS dates there are for this year is all :)

How far do they ask to go back for references? Last 2 employers?

l395 19th May 2019 23:17

You at least need a current, or past employer/manager within the last 2.5 years and another within the last 5 years.

Hi guys, Many months ago I applied for QF International BNE. So I have a quick question, what photos do we have to include with our application if we make it to AD? I received an email on Friday my application is still in progress which is a good sign. Thanks and all the best to everyone. :)

They ask for a current employer/manager (last 2.5 years) and a previous employer/manager (up to 5 years)

Hi all, what pics do you include with your CV that you hand in on AD? Two pics? A full length and a headshot? Just want to clarify. Do you need these to be professionally taken? Congrats to those who have made it into GS. Thanks :)
