No issues I think, just too many Philippinos in the company, and they want a mix of all nationalities...

Status AIP
To those of you who were in the May 2012 recruitment in Auckland, my status has changed to AIP. Can anyone who was there advise if your status has changed or changes
Kind Regards |
flyguy87
Hi Flyguy87
In my opinion, it is not necessary to send them application via post. In my case, I went to the Global Assessment Center by applying directly to the Agency and online. As discussed in this forum, you can also just bring your CV to the OD without invitation. Chill up and Relax bro. Good luck:ok: |
PPRuNe and specifically this Forum are NOT, repeat NOT Social Networks (Facebook IS an example of a social network, as are MySpace and Google Plus+).
PPRuNe is intended for use by Airline employees seeking to exchange useful information and this forum exists for Wannabes to do the same. PPRuNe is NOT intended for the exchange of excited chatter, expressions of goodwill and hope, messages about Private Messages or any of the other rubbish that has recently been polluting these threads. These threads are a source of valuable information to those applying for jobs: Forcing others to have to wade through pointless and idle chatter relevant to only those involved to get at the necessary information is unfair, and a selfish act by those involved and will result in immediate sanctions being taken. |
Medical test
@Moderator: Thanks so much for your information about the regulation in this forum. Im sorry about that.
Guys, I was informed to do the medical test based on EK's form. I am still waiting for their email about the medical test instruction. But i dont know what kind of medical test should be conducted. Could any one give me some information? According to the brief guidelines, there is another Medical test in Emirates Clinic as well, am i right? If so, is there any possibility that they will send us home after the medical test in Emirate? I am in a very good health condition, however I still need some preparation. Thanks so much for your help. |
Medical Test
From my understanding the medical test is conducted upon your arrival in Dubai. It is a standard aviation medical test that includes a full blood and urine screen, hearing and vision tests and a reflex test. If you pass all tests you should be fine. On the instance you do not clear this medical your contract with Emirates will be terminated. You must be clear of teburculosis and HIV for visa requiremets and also you must pass a drug test. If you are taking any medication its best to take a copy of your prescription and a note from your doctor advising why that medication has been subscribed. Alot of common medications for the western world are illegal in the middle east. So it is best to declear if you are taking medication. This is based on my experience purely so I hope this is of some use.

Medical test
Thanks for your information. that sounds like an ordinary medical test.. But as i know, we are going to flight a lot, so is there any special aviation medical test for this?
I will have to make another medical test before arriving to Dubai, so it is totally twice?? :bored: I found a website about the Aviation medical test, do you think this is applicable for this situation? How to pass your next FAA medical examination. Im in very good health, however, it's better with some good preparation. Again, thanks very much.:D |
Medical Test
@BryanEK.
May I ask if it was per Ek instruction to carry out a medical test prior to your arrival in DXB? If so may I also ask what the nature of that test is? I was informed at my AD that all medicals were carried out upon arrival into DXB, if you have recieved different information could you kindly let me know. I worked for an airline in the middle east a few years ago and from what I remember you are required to undergo all the tests I mentioned in my previous message. This medical test is also required to be carried once a year and will be conducted by the airlines doctors or appointed physicians. Other than that there are no other additional medical requirements. If you are in good health you have no reason to worry.. Feel free to private message me. |

Bryan EK - Fly 85
@Moderator: You took the words right out of my mouth ! I've seen a couple of comments made by other members marked as "Facebook Trash" here on page 28 of this thread but didn't know why nor did I actually get to read any of them prior to being marked however I totally agree with what you said and very glad that you said it. Hopefully EVERYONE will abide by regulations especially after being informed.
Bryan EK You are right. In addition to the Medical Form e-mail you're waiting for there are Medical tests conducted in Dubai upon arrival. A blood test for HIV , VDRL & Hepatitis B & a CHEST X-Ray for TB. A UAE Visa will NOT be issued for : Untreated syphilis , Positive HIV , scarring from previous TB on a chest x-ray , active TB , positive hepatitis B surface antigen. They recommend that you undertake testing for HIV , VDRL & a chest x-ray at your home country prior to joining as failure to meet UAE visa requirements will lead to TERMINATION of your contract & REPATRIATION at your own expense. The form you will download fill & upload at your portal will include 4 appendix , Medical standards , Medical history , Vaccinations & Dental. Hope that helps. Flying 85 I remember reading here on this forum that you have to wait for a YEAR after resigning from Qatar before you can join Emirates. It's some king of a contract between the two companies. Check the previous Emirates cabin crew wannabes thread. |
Medical test
mogwai_01: i believe that DocEman gave is enough information. I also saw that requirement in FAQs in Emirate website that you need medical test prior to have the visa. The specific type of test has been explained by DocEman.
@DocEman: thanks so much for your information. I heard that there is also dental test as well right? Thanks :D |

Application time?
Evening all...
Apologies if this has been asked before, but was hoping for some insight. I will have completed my degree in two years (Bachelor of Arts in History, French and German), have heard the application process can take 6-12 months, when would the best time to apply be? If I am not successful the first time, depending on the stage reached during interviews i'd have to wait 6-12 months before applying again, so I was wondering if it would be smart to start earlier just in case it takes a few attempts? E.g, should I start applying 6-12 months before I finish (or even earlier?) I don't want to apply too soon and have to turn it down, as I've read on here previously you would not be considered again if you do so. Do Emirates have certain time concessions if an employee cannot start straight away? Any replies would be greatly appreciated, thankyou! :) |
EK can delay your date of joining up to six months if they really want you.
