dont get your hopes up on this figure as does not show the whole picture! yes during the busy summer months doing 15+ flights a month on shorthaul hitting bar targets you would earn this HOWEVER fca being fca put those targets up so high each time to make it almost impossible to hit so you dont get the higher rate of commission! during winter on shorthaul you will only do around 5 flights a month so you will take home around £1000 however if you do longhaul you will obviously earn a lot more.

Air2bob

Many thanks, I thought this might be the case.

I did say in my original post

"IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET LONG HAUL"

you will be looking at between £1500 and £1700 a month after tax, its not likely you will be getting that sort of money if you do just short haul unless you work like a trooper

jennihopkins 14th Dec 2006 12:53

i never got as much as £1700 on SH, but some months i was getting in the region of £1500! so it can be done!!

CandyFlooPot 27th Dec 2006 01:18

:DI worked for FCA last summer for a season. The first season u work for them will only be short haul, and you work the not so desirable flights, selling constantly and trying to reach targets that are made near impossible. There is no quarantee of work after the six months, and most people get layed off and invited back the following year. If you can afford to be without a job and security then you will be fine.
The first few months like any other airline will be poor money to start with, but will get better. My highest take home for the duration of the contract which will go sooooo quick was £1200 and I WAS working lots of hours SELL SELL SELL.
I would like to point out that the crew at FCA LGW were absolutely great, friendly and a real laugh, it would of been great doing long haul with them, they are a real asset to the company. Shame the way the PPYs get treated, and im not alone in saying that im sure.
I got a permanent job with another airline so wont be going back, anyone wanting to join FCA you will have a fantastic season and as I said the crew are what made it for me. Just dont get your hopes up for anything permanent, but as experience and a fot in the door then its ideal. I wish you all the best for 2007. I hope this gives a little insight. Please feel free to mail me with any questions
Good luck everyone

HI every one.

Just a quick question to you all.

I applied late last September for the seasonal position of cabin crew at MAN for this coming summer however I have only automated emails, the last being 8th November, saying how that i will be contacted in due course regarding my application but i haven't heard a word since.

I was just enquiring to see if anyone else is in the same position as me as i understand that the interviewing process has already begun at MAN and was fearing that I may not have even made the interview stage.

Any advice would be of great help.

Is the Dublin base an all year round base or just summer only. What A/C is based there?

Head_in_clouds 8th Jan 2007 16:25

I think we have to sell something? Am I right, if so is it in front of the group or in the interview with the interviewers?

primus 8th Jan 2007 16:30

I'm not sure about that one, but normally things like that are in front of the group. In the 2 to 1 it is just normally questions they ask regarding customer service etc......

I am looking to get back into flying and have an int in Dublin on 11th Jan....

Head_in_clouds 10th Jan 2007 13:44
