I have seen a lot of previous recruitment processes discussed on here, so thought I would put this question out there!
I applied for the cabin crew roll with Virgin Australia - Sydney and was jumping up and down to be asked to a recruitment day straight away! I was so excited to see that training school is commencing next year and I could potentially be starting a much needed new career as soon as then!
I received the email on Wednesday, read everything there was to know about these recruitment days, asked advice from friends in the company and got all the forms filled out ready to go, even picking an outfit! I didn't have great internet access, so not reading the fine print, thought nothing of waiting until Saturday when I could hook up to works wifi to login and pick the day I would like - I thought as I was invited there would obviously be a spot for me! wrong! Today I logged in to find there are no longer any positions left! shattered.
I am trying not to be to devastated about this, an email from Virgin assured me I would be contacted for the next recruitment day, but I take it this has ruined my chances of next years training?
Wondering if anyone knows if there would likely be more RD's for the early 2015's school before it commences or is it just this one?
Do they run multiple schools in Sydney per year or if I am likely to be looking at being contacted more like the end of next year?

They way Virgin are recruiting I would think there will be schools (especially for SYD) early next year once the silly season has finished. Don't stress about not booking in an AD, it's no big deal and they'll offer you another opportunity when the next one is scheduled

Cabin Crew Campaign
Hi,
I applied for the cabin crew campaign (MEL) that Virgin had up in January, has anyone else applied? I am wondering if they have any assessment days and ground schools scheduled for 2015 yet or if they will be announcing those hopefully soon?

cheeky Virgin
Heard a funny story today
A friends son/daughter has been going through the start up mill with Qantas/Jetstar. Finally gets started , working a flight. Nice bloke in 3A hands him/her a card, "Hi, I am Joe Bloggs , recruiting for Virgin. You do a very good job, we should talk".
So apparently, they let Qantas/Jetstar recruit, select, train and then they observe on flights and snatch the best of the best. The dumbarses at Qantas/Jetstar seem to think they can keep everyone on a non committal leash, and seem to not care about retention. Plenty more where they came from I suppose, but seems an expensive way to go about it.
Maybe old news to experienced people, but for new starters be nice to everyone especially the suit in 3A.
