I applied for Brisbane base and just received this email. Has anyone received the same thing? Has anyone even been invited to an assessment day FOR Brisbane base?

"Thank you for your ongoing interest in the Qantas Cabin Crew Australia International Brisbane based position. We appreciate the time and effort you have put into your application to get to this point and are excited to let you know that you have been successful in progressing through to the next stage of our recruitment process.

The nature of the airline industry means requirements are often shifting. Unfortunately, due to a late change yesterday we no longer have a requirement for Brisbane based Flight Attendants and now instead require additional Flight Attendants to be based out of Sydney. We would like to give you the opportunity to progress your application further if you would like to do so for a Sydney based position. If not, we can leave your application in process for a Brisbane based position should positions arise in the next 12 months.
If you are open to considering a Sydney based position, we would like to invite you to attend an Assessment Centre next week. Please be aware that if you are successful in securing a Sydney based position you would be required to transfer to Sydney at your own expense and commit to that base for at least 12 months. In the future, should an opportunity come up to transfer to a Brisbane base, you could then request a base transfer through our internal process. Please be advised that base transfers are not guaranteed and will only be available as per business requirements. "

I haven't heard anything yet besides providing details to get ready to complete background check.. I applied online in March for external SYD base, completed questionnaire in April, attended AD mid-May, completed XREF email a week later and received an email to provide additional information for background check on 22/5.. I am now waiting for the next stage also. Hopefully a few more GS are being prepared for this year good luck everyone

Any more AD’s ?

Hi just wondering if anyone knows if there are anymore AD’s for Melbourne scheduled ? Unfortunately I wasn’t lucky enough to get invited to an AD last month however my application is still ‘in progress ‘. Best of luck to everyone whatever stage they are at. Thank you 😊

Hi Sammow, sorry I cleared my inbox. It only allows me 1 message at a time for some reason.

Hi Syd_flyer
Only two red crosses left - Auscheck results received and final qantas security clearance status.
Though it says auscheck application was only received on 28/5/19 so I feel I still have a few weeks of waiting.
They did mention they have multiple ground schools running throughout the rest of the year so I hope I don’t have to wait too long.

Colour Vision Requirements for Cabin Crew

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can provide me with any sort of insight in relation to the colour vision requirements for cabin crew for QF or any airline??

I have recently found out that I am colour blind (quite badly) and am in the process of applying for an airline. Just want to know if anyone out there knows any info of the medical requirements and whether I should be concerned?

If someone could please provide me with further information that would be AMAZING!!

Hey, Not really an answer to your question but kind of curious...how didn't you know you were colour blind? I'm not sure if this would matter for cabin crew or not?! Good luck xx

Hello,

New to the forum, been following all the posts ... waiting on more news and for Brisbane AD invitation. Latest messsage was the "thank you for your patience" ...and that there will be an update in due course ...

Jetsetterhopeful - when is your AD in Brisbane? are they still wanting crew for Brisabne base? or did you get an email in to do AD in Brisbane for Sydeny base?

Cheers and all the best !!!

Congrats on the invite. Did your email say it was for Sydney only as well?
