The main thing I think is for them to have a clear photo of you when you are discussed.
I think I have progressed past references now as they sent an email yesterday asking for details required for background checks. AD was SYD 10/5..

People, if you are going to an assessment day here’s some advice if you want to fast track yourself. Have EXACTLY what they ask you to in the information letter.
don’t fall into the trap of saying “I will get an RSA if I get through” or “I will get a first aid certificate”. Have it with you. Have the signed swimming certificate with you if they have asked for it. Have EVERYTHING with you at the assessment day. So when the assessors check your documents they will put a tick next to every single criteria. DONE. Next stage for you. There were 7000 Applications for this current recruitment. Trust me, stay ahead of the pack by being ORGANISED!!
Its a FANTASTIC company and truly the best job out there.

X-Ref
Hi islandwings, X-Ref is the third party company Qantas use to conduct reference checks. Those successful at an AD leads to email communication from X-Ref (no contact from Qantas at this time) requesting you to provide at least two referees from previous employers. X-Ref contacts these referees and then forwards their responses on to QF. Hope that makes sense. Best of luck with the process.

Some Brisbane applicants have been invited to the first lot of ADs already, not sure when they are. I got an email 2 weeks ago saying they are going to be looking at BNE applications coming up soon

Background Checks
hi everyone, I’ve been checking in on this thread for the last few weeks. Does anyone have any info about how long the background checks will take? I applied in March, attended an assessment day in April (Sydney), the next day I was asked to compete x-ref details and was sent a link to begin background check. 3 weeks later i got a call, I was congratulated and asked if I could attend ground school in May but unfortunately I could not resign from my current job in time and also my security clearance hadn’t even been submitted yet. It has been 3 weeks now since submitting the security clearance but no more news from qantas regarding another ground school date.
