China Southern’s Hunt for Aussie Cabin Crew
November 23, 2011
As part of its outstanding expansion into Australia, Asia’s largest carrier, China Southern Airlines, has launched its first recruitment drive for local Aussie cabin crew.
“Australia is one of our fastest growing markets so it makes good business sense to enhance our Australian flights with local character,” said China Southern’s Regional General Manager Australia/New Zealand Mr. Henry He.
“To acknowledge our increasingly diverse passenger mix, we are bridging on-board culture by blending the best of Aussie hospitality with traditional Cantonese service,” said Mr. Henry.
The recruitment drive started in Sydney this week with plans to extend to Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth next year.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Australians who have dreamt of becoming international flight attendants to do so with one of the world’s largest airlines flying into one of the world’s most exciting and fastest-developing regions – OId Canton in Southern China,” Mr. Henry said.
Successful candidates will get the chance to travel to China Southern’s home port of Guangzhou to become full-fledged flight attendants, initially working on the twice daily Sydney to Guangzhou route.

CZ Recruiting for Sydney Based crew...
Heard about this position too from a friend that works for CZ.
Wish I too knew more of the conditions. Guess we have to wait 'til the interview process begins and hopefully some people who has applied will slip some of the beans here.

Yeah, I received an email too advising me to complete an application form in their website...for Jetstar. I had to reply back, and went to their website to send another application...for the 4th time!!!
I guess they're all back and ready to tackle their recruitment.

"Currently we have no date for an assessment centre. It may take weeks or months before you receive the invitation, in the meantime your information will remain on file.
When we have a firm date for the assessment centre in your location you will be notified via email."
This was back in April. I guess its only been a couple of months... does anyone know if they are looking at opening a base in Melbourne? the Altara site says "Additional bases will be opening in 2012"
