you can use your japanese cellphone outside japan? I myself am bringing my cellphone as it is unlocked, but when i visit family in japan i need use a pre paid phone cause the network is different. Just double check to make sure you phone will work outside japan!

I do have a question, the short term medical you did was just blood work, the questionaire, hearing, and vision to my understanding?

medical question

Hello to all of you! It's my second time that I'm writing here... The first time I was anxious that I might not receive a cong email because of the scar on my back that I've declared at the final interview. At the end after 2 weeks I've got the email.... I've made my medical exams and I've send them. They asked me to make again my CBC because some values were not normal. And because I had an operation at my spine they asked me more detalied reports about it. My operation had place 8 years ago.... I have knew a scoliosis of 10 degraes at the lombar area. I would like to know if this can be a reason for them to eliminate me? If you know a similar case or someoane that dident pass the medical exames please let me know... I am very scared that I've arrived here and I will not pass the medical exames because of my operation.... Thank you for your time

Thank you for your response I checked my cell phone but I cannot unlock it unfortunately! Good thing that you told me about it!

I actually did the long term medical that included the medical history questionnaire, Vision, hearing, blood tests, chest X-ray, electrocardiograph, and medical examinations by the doctor. I am still waiting for their response though. But I believe that the short term medical only includes what you wrote Plus the chest X-ray.

Great, i appreciate your response! Were you able to get the exams done in english or japanese? I'm still looking around a bit before i just do the exams as translations are pricey here

Yes I was in the same position too. It was so hard for me to find a hospital that accepts the English medical form here. In fact they all refused to do so and I ended up having my family doctor to refer me to one of the hospitals. So it may be a good idea to talk to your family doctor to see if he/she knows some doctor. I just sent them my medicals recently too. Good luck to you! I hope we can start with you the same time Thanks for your response!

@ Boludo

Hey, Congratulations for making it!
I have a friend in DXB working for EK, and he made all the medicals in Trinidad Medical Center, he told me that his Doctor made the translation himself, so you should check that option.

P.S.: I'll add you later to my msn or FB.

Greets!

That's great, I haven't given them a call yet so I will go ahead and do that tomorrow. I just want to double check you mean this clinic correct - el Sanatorio Trinidad Palermo.

I hope I have the same luck as it would help me out alot! If possible does he remember the doctor name so i may request the same one as he is familiar with process?

Thank you for the information and just in case you didn't see it I replied to your pvt!

Yea add me and we can keep in touch from there.

Chau!!

X-ray report

Hi!

I got an e-mail yesterday to repeat CBC because one value isn't within the normal range and my X-ray report isn't satisfactory (the radiologist should put more comments) .
The doctor certified in two reports and in English of course that :
Evalution of the spine
: Flexio-extensio in normal range , spine is without pathological deformities. I certify that the under listed worker is healthy and fit to work.
Chest X-ray examination: Heart:normal, TBC: negative, Tumor: negative
I certify that the under ... etc.

What do you think they want to see on the report?
Could somebody ( who already got the medical clearance ) write me here or in private what on his/her X-ray reports stand? Unfortunately it's difficult in Hungary to find a doctor who would be so kind to write some sentences in English as well :S

Thanks!

Hi Kovati

Ask your doctor to put comments about your Thoracic Spine, disc spaces, spine alignment and scoliosis if any (if you have scoliosis ask the doctor to put the cobb's angle).
But if you are insecure just give them a call and ask what specifically they want.

Good luck

medical

Thanks Ladybuggg!

I'm going to a Radiologist on monday and hopefully she can help me.

I heared that they are very strict in case of hemoglobin problem and scoliosis. What do you think about bilirubin? The maximum range is 17 and mine was 25. The family doctor said that it's nothing, no disease, it's maybe hereditary thing but I'm healthy. She wrote it on the report as well. I hope they won't reject me because of this thing.

guys would you advise to take the fast-track or the full medicals? i read on my e-mail that whichever option you choose, you will still have to repeat everything in doha.

have you heard of the cases when people who picked fast track got sent home after failing their medicals on the spot? it's just that i feel i would be safer if i did everything at home, but we have a problem with finding english-speaking doctors and everything could turn out to be very expensive... so i'm still in two minds...i'm tentatively booked for july, but i have no idea for how long it could be delayed if i do the full medical examination. i hear some people wait for months to get cleared...and it is much quicker should you prefer the fast track option.

Sigh I failed my medicals despite all my results being normal or within range. Soooo upset now. Ph well guess it's not meant to be.
This means I have to wait 6 months before I try again is it?

Cheatezz!

I think, you will have less problem if you choose the fast term and of course you are healthy.
I choosed the long term for safety sake but doing the things and repeat and repeat a lot of things for a month because some value isn't int the normal range or the translation isn't good. They are very punctilious. If your CBC and Chest X-ray is OK ( scoliosis) and have a good translation, you won't have problem with the long term.

Ayesunshine! I'm really sorry! Did they write you anything, what was the reason?
I think you can try again after 6 months.

Kovati, thanks! it's just that if they are SO scrupulous I'm so much afraid of the negative outcome ... i thought all this fear would be over after i got th golden e-mail..haha...in reality, the scariest part has just begun! -))))

Ayesunshine...so sorry to hear that!... did they explain anything to you?what was wrong? anyway don't lose heart... they allow to reapply in 6 months afther the FI, but Emirates and Etihad are recruiting right now, may be you could try your luck there as well? as you said... if it wasn't meant to happen, may be it's just because wok with another carrier is waiting for you at the corner!

hi guys!

I'm just new in this forum.. I'm actually interested to apply as a CC. And QA is conducting OD this coming July 18 in my place... Can someone tell me if its okey even if I don't have a 20/20 vision?. Will it not affect my medical if ever pass the FI?..I'm using contact lens to correct my vision. I'm just concern coz i might be wasting my time applying. Hope someone can clarify this matter. thanks.
