Private airline based in Amman, Jordan & Dubai

Hi everyone,
my question is about a private airline that's based in Amman, Jordan and Dubai.
I posted my CV on the website www.airlinejobsly.com for any cabin crew job, and was contacted (by email and telephone) by Jihad Sahawneh. He wanted me to send him my CV as well as 2 photographs.
His emails were very brief, the only info I have so far is that it is a private airline only for top VIPs and businessmen, and they fly all over the world.
He said he would send me more info at a later stage.

I want to know, has anyone ever been recruited in this way? And do you have any knowledge of these kind of airlines? Are they legit?
I'm quite new to this whole process so any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I am really skeptical. And the fact that this guy called me all the way to South Africa from Jordan doesn't sound like normal recruiting procedure. Plus I'm not too sure if I want to live in Jordan with all the war in that region, Dubai anytime.
I'll let y'all know...

well jordan is not so unsafe as you think, and a recruiter calling you long distance is not unusual in private aviation...

having said that: the whole website seems very unprofessional, so I would not trust it for a minute...

good luck!

Yes just had a look, its very unprofessional, I would stay well clear. I have registered with this site www.airappoint.com and they seem ok. By the way a CV and 2 photos is quite normal for cabin crew. One head and shoulders, one full length.
cheers

yes, but keep in mind you never know where/with who your CV is going to end up if you register on any of those websites (even if it looks professional)

tread very very carefully! : )

well, you know what they say? if it looks too good to be true, it usually is..., but if it was true, it sounds great, if it were based in dubai anyway

Wink

The skys the limit - Dubai is not the only place in the me. There are plenty of other beautifel cities, many of them not quite so busy as Dubai, depends on what you want. Don't limit yourself......

elisa as I understand it airappoint is based in the Uk, is part of a limited company and its staff are all ex airline employees - so yes tread very carefully, you may end up on the front cover of 'womans weekly' lol

Yeah u are right, Middle East is very diverse, something for every taste

well it s personal, but I would not post and send my CV around to just any "agency ", after all it s personal information...

most jobs are word of mouth apparently, but u have to get a foot in the door somehow, so I understand your point!

good luck

Sounds massively dodgy.

Why would he not tell you the name of the company that is crazy.

I was looking at those websites and one of the jobs on there you have to send your cv to a yahoo adress in India????????? I don't think so

Stick with proper websites like aviation jobsearch and flightglobal

pinkus - many operators/companies don't want people to know they are hiring, that's one of the many reasons they use the services of a recruitment agency. It's called discretion, and neither aviation jobsearch nor flight global are recruitment agencies. They simply advertise on their behalf.

the skys the limit - I know what your saying, but remember it's more than likely you'll be away from base much of the time.

elisa4 - your right most good jobs are word of mouth, but you do need to get your foot in the door first!! Some of my friends have used airappoint, and some have just emailed them for advice - you don't have to send a CV willy nilly!.

cheers

Not sure if you understood me Easy.

Of course many companies don't want their name given when they are hiring. And yes you are right they do use agencies.

AGENCIES not yahoo email addresses.

I never said that that either of the websites I mentioned are agencies. But then both of those websites only ever advertise jobs on behalf of companies or reputed agencies. Not send your cv to this hotmail/yahoo address. One of the sites mentioned by the OP has girls phone numbers posted for all to see for goodness sake.

pinkus - my apologises if I misunderstood you (apologises too for the garish blue colour of the text!!). I think we are both singing from the same hymn sheet here. No professional company would use a yahoo, hotmail or whatever type email address. Let that be a warning to anyone contemplating sending their CV. Just take a little time to check who you are dealing with. And to publish individual mobile numbers is quite appauling.

Any news from this guy?

I have been contacted today from the same person asking for my cv because he "looking for people for my new private airline based in Jordan" i start googling this guy and ended up in this forum so i was wondering, is he doing this for years? Because the post is quite old... And did you apply and/or get an answer. Seems fishy, i don't know
