For Emirates or any middle east airline? Yes. For an Australian airline? Not at all. All the majors regularly employ mature age crew who have never flown before. Go for it, Aussie airlines appreciate the life experience and maturity you bring to the role.

Same with UK airlines.
36 is no problem at all. There is people starting as Cabin Crew in their 40s and even 50s!

Good luck

As i know to apply to Qantas, British Airways or Monarch you would have to be a British citizen or to have the rights to work and live in UK.
My doubt is if you can also apply even if you are not what i said.
can you apply if you do not live in UK ??????
Do they take people like Emirates, Qatar, Etihad or Gulf that they take you to those countries and they take care about your rights lo live and work there?????.
Kel 36 i am in the same situation as you, where are you from? i am 31 years old and i do not know if i can still apply to an airline, i would love to join Emirates, Qatar, Etihad or anyone.
Do you guys and girls think that i am too old for that???. lol
Could i apply to Qantas or any other airlines that take people in any place besides EK, EY, QR???? because i have read in the Qantas website that you must have the right to live and work in UK.
I would appreciate your answers. lol

Hi Tiluchi10

I was under the impression and after reading different forums and websites, that I being 36 would be too old to apply for the likes of Quantus,Emirates,Gulf Air etc. But for Monarch, Thomas Cook etc the age thing is not a problem at all!. I have had lots of positive comments and feedback saying I'm not too old at all, infact they sometimes like the more mature people apparently and that some airlines are recruiting people in there 40's and 50's!!! So were not too old!!!

I am from the UK and am hoping to be based at London Gatwick if I did get a job as cabin crew (fingers crossed). I really don't know if you can apply if your not a British Citizen perhaps someone on the forum could shed some light in this area which would be useful to you.

Hope this helps a bit, Good luck to you let me know how you get on

Max age limitation.

Hi all..

Just FYI, from the information that I had, max age to apply for EK and EY is 36 YO..This info I obtained from the people who works for these two airlines..So, to everyone who considered themself above 30's, no need too worry as long as the airlines consider ur qulaification meets their requirement, we don't have nothing to worries about ..KEPP ON TRYING and ALL THE BEST !!!!!!!!

Based in the U.K

You must be eligible to live and work in the U.K to be recruited by Q.F LHR Unfortunately you may be over the age limit for the M.E airlines. The easy way to find out is to contact the H.R departments of these airlines. However I can tell you with certainty that they do recruit from your part of the world for sure!

Too old?

Hey crew,

I'm currently 31 still hopeful in becoming a cabin team member but thought time was running out... for some reason I thought 32 was the cut off for EK but then I over heard a few ladies older then me something like 34 was accepted into EK.

I have already been through the nerve racking assessments for both EY and EK (EK 3 times now right to the very end sitting the final one-on-one interview).

tiluchi10 - If you have any questions regarding the assessments and interview process I'm more then happy to help out. I'm not online often but I will reply when ever I can
