MAM

Seems we lost the old thread for MAM due to inactivity, so thought I would go ahead a start another.

Could be a waste of time but if any of you were like me - past the ref check stage and waiting for the 'yes' phone call, before everything went on hold - than like me you would be sick of waiting.

So...has anybody heard anything re MAM/QF starting back up...??!!

mam

i am in the same boat as you rmondo, past the ref checks and was very disappointed when everything was put on hold.
i too have heard recruitment will recommence again in january 2009, but am not sure if that is just for QCCA or MAM also.
is it true that if it has been over 6 months since they last saw you, you have to go through the whole interview process again? i hope not

lets hope we hear something soon

if its been more than 6 months you will have to start from scratch..QCCA will retire some old aircraft, see how many f/a s take voluntary redundancy do the figures and start the recruitment process again early to mid 2009.Hope that helps.

Guys.... this is the recent information i have from Qf Cabin Crew Recruitment. All current applications that were put on hold due 2 the Recruitment freeze both Qcca and MAM is for a period of 12mths after exec review and ref checks so if January is the nxt round of ground Schools u could be lucky. The 6 mth rule is for applications which were unsuccessful the wait which u must wait 2 reapply. Medicals and Security checks are current for up 2 12 mths, Which is why you would have to re do the recruitment process again. Many QccA crew were on hold from the MAM Feb 2007 recruitment for 12 mths and some over and were offered QccA positions when QccA first started so dont give up hope just yet.

I think many of us are in the same boat as you dsour02, waiting...waiting... hopefully though only till around Jan before it all picks up again.

Also, can anybody who has/is working for MAM tell me what amount of hours one can expect to work in an average week.

Given the latest SH EBA7 negotiations, I doubt there'll be any more MAM recruitment.

There won't be anymore MAM and the hours that they are getting will be reduced gradually down to hardly anything.

Hey for those waiting for a MAM position you mite be offered a
position with the new 3rd party provider been set up in Short Haul (QccA Short haul) if the new SH EBA7 is voted in, which means a full time job with not so good pay or conditions. Thay have the applicants ready to go if QF go down this road, just like when i was offered QccA LH after waiting for over 1 year on the MaM shortlist........who knows goodluck.

Looks like MAM recruting is in question for QF .. look at the new QF SH EBA notes and you'll see that it will not be worth working for QF soon.

Looks like MAM recruting is in question for QF .. look at the new QF SH EBA notes and you'll see that it will not be worth working for QF soon. To those of you trying to get into QF please don't take this the wrong way because Ive been there and Know how keen you are to see a glimmer of hope to get a job in a once great airline. But its not great in QF or MAM and QF are trying very hard to make new employees work for chicken feed. The new QCCA LH is not good, having spoken to many who are in there. Now they are planing a short haul version which is expected to be as bad or worse. MAM are a dying breed many have left due poor conditions, inconsistant pay and no flexibility and non are coming thru. Make your own call on this, but I hope this gives you a real inside view.

Hey guys, just though id share an insight with some of you guys that are in the same boat as me waitng..waiting and waiting for somewhat good news, I was at the airport last night and saw some crew on the escalator with me so i struck conversation with one of the crew and asked him what is the exact go ahead with MAM he was telling me come december it is not gonna be MAM and will be changed to QCCAD(domestic). So it employees will not be classed as a casual employee no more. I also asked him that i as well as many of people have waitied 8 months, completed medicals and no answer. He said u r in but depends on when they start training days, I am not to sure how true this isif some on could let meknow that would be greatly apreciated.

Hey guys, the new "Entity" in Short Haul is strating up anyway even if EBA7 is voted down, so it will happen just a matter of when, but i doubt no more Casual MAM recruitment, thay may call the applicants on the MAM waitlist and offer positions with the new so called "Entity". I would say most will prob knock back a job with the new entity if the money is bad, so thay will need all the applicants that can find. Hope it all works out for the Mamers that are currently flying.
