Application on Hold

Hey guys.

I, like many others got the email telling me that the recruitment process is on hold and they don't know how long this will last.

It was to be expected though, following the annoucement the other day.

Oh well. Good luck to everyone in whatever they choose to do. I'm going to finish uni and who knows, I may be a qualified lawyer by the time QCCA ever gets back to me! (yes, I'm studying law, but would much rather be a flight attendant! :P)

Peace out!

It is likely that all recruitment will be cancelled for the 08-09 financial year. Of course things may change, but I think it is very unlikely that there will be any new intakes this year.

likewise. I received the 'get back to you in 4 weeks' email on July 8th but nothing more since.
I know MAM (domestic) have put all recruitment on hold till further notice. Lets hope its all a 'knee jerk' reaction to the fuel prices and recruitment will be back on again VERY soon. After all, QF is going to need crew to work all these new aircraft I believe they're still buying.

Sarahj,

I don't have any inside knowledge as to when etc, however, Now that the identity of the new CEO is known I'd have to say, Hello "Team Qantas"

Alan Joyce has been brought in for a very specific purpose and that is to make Qantas a very "lean" airline. He is not about to change his modus operandi. QCCA is the thin edge of the wedge, just as Jetstar was and Team Jetstar now is!

The gravy train has left the station and will not be returning, being a Flight Attendant is still a good job/career but you will never earn really good money ever again. When you get in,if you find you love it that's all that matters.

Good Luck
Cal

Hi nat001

I had my qcca RD on June 15th in St Kilda MEL.

I was also waiting on results from a MAM RD to come through and I think I was only days from getting the "we have pleasure in informing you..." email, then MAM puts everything on hold as well - bugger!!

I agree that statement is not true.. considering they don't know themselves when they will hire again.. end of 2009 is a bit far fetched considering how much can change in 6 months, let alone a year.

any sources?
