Keep trying.....
Keep trying pradaphone....like most people say one airline is looking for something completley different to another airline.....
I know how much it hurts not to get through but keep trying.....we have all been there....I've heard of people going for 7 interviews and not giving up and then getting the job!!!!
I know V Australia are recruiting now....applications close 15th of June 2008.
Why don't you try them?

Definately apply to different airlines. I was rejected by an airline and couldn't believe it since I thought I did so well at the recruitment day. Then the next airline I applied for picked me up straight away, it was so fast. You just might not be Qantas' cup of tea, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't make brilliant cabin crew, you've just got to go where you are appreciated.

I'm sure you find lots of information there....
Remember no news is good news.....it is better than a "no emai"l so you must have gone well at the VRD....
It takes weeks....months.....(years for some!!!) from VRD Day...to reference checks to medical etc.....

Recruitment Day
Hey guys.
I got an email last night inviting me to a MAM recruitment day.
I've booked to go on the 12th, next week, but I may change my mind as I am still waiting to hear back from QCCA, and would much rather longhaul than shorthaul.. but who knows!
Let me know if anyone else is going on that day!

That's great you got an invite for MAM. At this rate MAM could be the quicker option that QCCA. It is never a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket like I have done........

No I've only applied for MAM and QCCA.
I want to apply for V Australia but I got 'that email' from Virgin Blue in September last year so I'm still within the 1 year period where I can't apply for Virgin.. which sucks!

hi everyone
am curious to know whether anyone who attended the syd or melb recruitment days 2 and 3 weeks ago have heard anything back from MAM?
Its been 2 weeks for me and i am trying to stay patient, but any news would help

MAM recruitment day....progress

I attended the recrutiment day with MAM on 23rd May, and I made it through the afternoon, and I still have not ehard anything either. I have also sent across my criminal history check to them via fax as requested. I have checked with my references, and they have not been contacted yet.
I am getting so nervous....I just want to know....i wish they would put me out of my misery!!!
I have never checked my email account so much before until now!!!!

its good to know others are in the same boat as me. i attended melbourne 28th may session and also havnt heard anything. fair enough they did say to give 4-6 weeks to hear something, but cant help be curious to know whether others are progressng ahead of me. lets hope we hear something soon, SH is apparently very short at the moment.

Hey guys,
I've got my Emirates AC this sat in melb! ahh so excited- but I applied on the MAM website over a month ago and haven't heard anything back? I don't expect to be immediately recruited or anything but does anyone have any inside info on when they are recruiting next etc?

Hi, we are all in the same boat as you are my friend. Although I did speak to QF on friday in regards to the application process n i was told that they still haven't put forward the applications to executive reviewing due to them being so busy. But I got asked to email my resume n a full length photo to them again. Has anyone else been asked to do the same
Let's just hop that the recent news from QF about slashing a 1000 jobs means they wont be putting a hold on recruitment

Yes, A mate of mine got asked a statement of employment from a current employer too. And then was told that he will hear an outcome with in a week. It just seems to me that they are all over the shop, they have no clue of what they are doing. Who kows

Hey everyone
been hearing about qantas and their plans to cut 1,500 jobs and freeze recruitment, doesnt sound very promising
. anyone know whether this includes the recent mam recruitment?

I think they are more likely to offer VR to permanent shorthaul crew than get rid of recent MAM employees, however I don't expect MAM will recruit any more cabin crew this financial year.

Wow, I can't believe that all of you guys have been going through the process and the only contact I have received from MAM was today (July 21) in the form of an email telling me that recruitment is going on hold - and my recruitment day was May 23rd. QCCA strung me along like that as well but they were worse - 2 months AFTER the medical I got told no.
A real joke and disgrace these companies are and ironic since they're apart of Australia's only legacy carrier and national airline - it annoys the hell out of me that they treat people like this - both QF and MAM.
Anyway, it doesn't bother me now, only because I'm in my 3rd week of training for VB but just the mere thought that what if I were relying on getting the job with MAM...frustration much??
