Start date

Hi everyone

I've got my British Airways start date of the 26th May. Just over 6 weeks. Very excited about it now.

Is anyone else on this course? I'm wondering what my options are for getting to LHR everyday from Crawley. Do I temporarily move closer or commute 4 hours a day getting there and back?

Thanks
Kenny

I've read on other forums that some trainees are getting rooms at the T5 Travelodge for £19 a night. You could stay Mon-Thurs and probably save money on petrol.

Travelodge you say

Thanks for the tip. Hadn't thought of that. Might give them a call. At least I'll be closer to work, lol

Wonder if they'll offer that rate for the whole 5/6 weeks

OK. Just called and they don't do deals. They also don't have any £19 rooms left.

Nevermind. Need to find another option

Hi Japanair, TLV is a WW cabin crew operated route but from time to time EF CC operate it as well on the B767. It happens very rarely though.

Has anyone been doing their Insight part 1 workbook pre training and found that in the catering and bars section pages 39 - 42 that the items that you need to list as sold aren't actually on the duty free paperwork? It also says to check your answers on the 'next step' and there isn't a next step?

Guys im on my last week of training now, fly next monday its so scary!

A couple things i read, someone wanting to know how soon they will hear of a joining date. - I got offered employment in oct 07 and then didnt hear anything until late dec 07. Join date being 10th March 08! Long time when ur excited!

Also DO NOT WORRY about part 1 insight!! its really for you just to get to grips with terminology and basic routine! you hand that in on your 1st day and then it isnt mentioned again until your last 2 weeks - being customer service! you will get your pass mark for the insight test on your mid course review but its no biggy ok!! and make sure you keep all the insight paper work untill the end as it will help you in cst. - i chucked mine - opps!

If any of you have any questions or worries please dont hesitate to pm me!!

Laters xx

Anyone else attending the BA WW temp interview day on 29/04/08 let me know. I applied on the Friday11th April and got an email back 14/04/08 letting me know about the interview day. I am very nervous now!! Bit worried as I am currently in a permanent flying position out of LBA. It's always been my dream to fly for BA.

Commuting, Crawley , LHR

Kenzo,

The communting between crawley and Heathrow isn't too bad. I live 5 minutes from LHR and have been commuting to LGW for a year which only takes 45 mins. I also commuted everyday 8am-5pm for my training in crawley which took about an hour. It gives you a chance to wake up in the mornings and wind down in the evenings. You soon get yourself into a routine. Although be prepared for the odd hold up on the dreaded M25!!

Thanks for the info CPT5J. Unfortunately I'm not a driver yet, so have to rely on public transport. I have to do LGW - Victoria, Victoria - South Kensington, S Kensington - Heathrow on the trains. It takes 2h5m from my front door to getting to T5. A bit less to Hatton X

Heya snoopy, mine started just after 1230 an finished on time round about 4-430, so its quite quick as interviews go as long as u leave enough time you'll be fine
