Urgh!
I'm so nervous now about tomorrow I keep waking up every 5 minutes. This is getting ridiculous now. I need to be awake in 4 hours, honestly, I annoy myself so much when I have too much to worry about and can't sleep.
Anyone else who has their assessment tomorrow good luck. I am sure we will all do well in the end!

Is that where they ask about challenges BA currently face etc? I just wrote about open skies, the new runway they are trying to get and the problems with T5, but then I applied to LGW, so not sure if questions are a little different.

Gosh
Is it odd that I actually enjoyed the interview? The two ladies were so lovely and made me feel so at ease. I messed up the group task because I didn't really contribute much, but I found it difficult trying to say stuff as the other 3 kept talking and wouldn't really let me say much/said things that I wanted to say before I had a chance too. That was rather infuriating. But the 2-1 was quite good fun actually. Hopefully I came across well and happy and pleasant. We shall see. I will hopefully find out if I was successful or not in the next 5 days odd. I was so nervous at first but they really do make you feel at ease and the interview room chairs are very comfy

Well done ben, sounds as if you put everything into it and I'm sure they would have maybe picked up on the others not letting you speak much. What did the task involve?
Good Luck.

right
The group assessment was something about a holiday company who had £5000 comp to give out to 12 different families, all asking for a certain amount each and you basically have to come up with who should get so and so amount etc and who should get none. They don't mark you on your answers as theres no right answer for it but they mark how you interact with the others. Whether you listened and let others have their say, and that you had a say etc etc etc!
I shall PM you about the interview Q's as I am far too tired to do it now miss flighty. But they do want different answers to the applications Q's because they ask them again.
Good luck you two!
xx

Closing dates for all 3 recruitment drives have been extended
Until the 14th April.
Can I bang my head, I can't stand the wait. Has anyone at all heard anything back from LGW?
I know welshboy and flyingboi both applied to LHR and heard back pretty quick. I know there are a few of us in the same boat waiting for LGW to get back to us.

LGW has a lower priority than LHR from what I can see - it always did while I was there. With other airlines operating for BA at LGW, the crew shortage isn't a big a problem. They are taking steps by setting up another holding pool for LGW for when the sub-contracts expire and the crew on the transfer lists get to LHR. This will be as the WW temps start to finish their contracts. This will be from around November, so new LGW crew will need to be trained by then, so they would need to be interviewed and approved by around mid-August. It's all one big cycle, does that make sense?

Thanks
It does make perfect sense, it's just the waiting I hate, I did wonder in the beginning if I should have applied for LHR, but went for LGW and I've also read that you can't or shouldn't do 2 applications, so wouldn't want to ruin my chances.
VS-LHRCSA....always good to have a view point from an insider, so thank you very much.

Flight Pay Details?
Hi everyone,
I've just recently received a letter confirming that my assessment day was successful (for LGW Cabin Crew) *yay!*, but I have just realised that I forgot to ask the details of our flight pay.
I know some airlines pay their crew from 'chocks on/off', and I was just wondering if anybody knew the details regarding BA's policy? Do they pay for your pre-flight briefing as well? Do we get paid even if the flight is delayed before boarding etc.?
Your help is much appreciated!

You will receive a basic pay which is mentioned in the job spec. This is £10,800ish which works out at around £700 a month after tax.
You will then earn flight pay which varies depending on what sort of flying you bid for. The £500 quoted is about right for LGW. You may even earn more. Just remember during your annual leave you won't earn any flight pay. You are paid from your report time to your clear time, including delays.
It's probably best to put anything you have learned regarding Australian airlines completely out of your mind. It is VERY different here. There are no grooming allowances, taxis home, cancelled accommodation allowance (there used to be), transport allowances, BOC allowances, paxing in Y allowances, rest break allowances, etc.
Flying here is not better or worse, just different. They pay is livable - certainly more than I get in the office. If you can get a house share in the surrounding area or the south coast, you will be fine.
