Good luck you guys, I hope it all works out for the best...I worked for them once, great fun....but I've long since decided I wanted to be on the flight-deck

Best Wishes to you all, I remember that anxiety very well!

Congratulations Qantaswannabie! I am pleased for you, keep us updated on here.

Warwicks-I have not heard anything either. I was not sure I had done my best, I had a headache by the time I had got to the 2 on 1 interview!

Well I guess we will just have to wait a while longer, they said it would take approx 3 weeks to find out!?! There is still a glimmer of hope.

Congratulations qantaswannabie! I am very happy for you that you made it through to the next stage.
I didn`t receive anything yet. But as I mentioned before I don`t think I was successful.

Training

Hi

Can anyone tell me if you have to provide your own accomodation when during training with Air NZ or whether the company provides it?

I have just passed my medical and checks etc and my training is due to start in May. It hasn't been mentioned as yet and I am getting a little worried about getting things organised!!!

Any help gratefully recieved!!!

Hi,
As your base that you operate from will be LHR and that is where the training is, you will have to find your own accomodation etc. They presume that you will be in easy commute for standbys and reporting for rostered duties so will be near for the training.

Where are you from in Dorset ? Do you know Wareham

Well those uniforms are certainly...interesting. Saw a couple of f/a's at Heathrow the other day. They looked rather creased and ill fitting and those hats look a little silly! Interesting colour as well.

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on the Air NZ medical and what it involves.

Any info would be great as I'm a bit worried about it ... Thanks.

Air NZ medical

Back2Flying

The Air Nz medical is nothing to worry about - first you need to give a pee sample - drug and alcohol test, then you have an eye test, a hearing test, blood pressure, and then you have to lift an empty cardboard box onto a filing cabinet! a few questions and your all done!

Medical Air New Zealand

Hi,
Could you please let me know what the eye test is about?? Do you have to read a text just using one eye,( like once only using left eye, an then read using only right one)... or is the test just telling letters on a wall???? Please explain the whole eye test, as it really worries me... Thanks

Thanks for your info on the Air NZ medical Qantaswannabie. Ive done mine now and really appreciated getting a reply before I went, so my turn to answer someone elses questions.

Crew-VIP, the eye test I did was reading from an eye chart on the wall one eye at a time, and then reading from a card close up one eye at a time.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

A huge congratulations to all of you have have landed positions with Air NZ LHR. It certainly sounds like you all deserve it .

I currently work for Air NZ here in NZ and I adore the company and couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather work for.

I have an interview coming up for the LHR base very shortly and am very curious as to what sort of questions will be asked in the 2 on 1 interview and also what to expect on the assessment day.

Thank you in advance .

Have a lovely week and safe flying to you all!

How to apply

Hi all.

Please can you tell me how to go about applying for the LHR base. I applied on line and just got an email through saying I can't go any further as I don't have NZ residency and was really confused? It was through their website but the page was really for NZealanders but I applied anyway??

The real Air New Zealand, perhaps, instead of the cheap Zeal knockoff?

To LHR Based crew.

I would really like to apply for air new zealand as it seems a great company to work for. I've been on the crew bus with some of you in lhr and you all seem really happy.

I've been with current airline for 6 years and my concern is, as i imagine it could for be for others, the drop in pay to move companies.

Could any lhr based crew give me an idea of your typical allowances downroute? Do you survive each month if you have a mortgage to pay?

any info greatly appreciated.

angel.
