Hello Pink Princess

First of all good luck with your application.

First Choice basic salary for C4 (new recruits) is £10,000 basic plus flight allowances of £2.60 and commission. If your lucky enough to get on the long haul at london Gatwick or manchester you are looking at earning between £1500 - £1700 per month after tax

LTN

Does anyone know what the rosters are like at LTN are they busy or quiet. Does it have an impact on the pay and is there a particular roster pattern? I'm considering applying for LTN as its close to home but want to know what life on the base is like? Friendly? Oh and do you get rostered to different bases often?

pretty sure luton is still seasonal. not sure if theres more of a chance at being kept on permanent at luton than other bases but u still have to start off as temporary crew.

i dont know much about the rostas at luton, but being rostered for another base doesnt happen that often at all. occasionally u can be called out to work at another base, but again this is rare and they sort it all out for u - taxi, hire car etc.

and first choice is very friendly!

Assesment day 03rd Dec

Hi Tally1 i am on your assesment day 3rd Dec 0800-13:30 not sure what it consists of yet although at a guess probably a get to know each other then some comapny history a maths test group activity and then a big wait to find out who is through to the 2-1 interview stage? Just a guess but charter airlines normally follow same interview process.

I must admit, I thought it was great that you book your own date and time for the assessment day. I do wish now, that I had opted for the afternoon session, seeing as I have a 90 min drive. You'll be able to spot me. I'll be the one with the dark circles under my eyes.
I am looking forward to finding out more First Choice as they do appear very friendly. helpful and professional. I really would like to work for them, even if I'm giving up my permanent job for a temp contract! I did work for them for a season when they were air2000 and I loved it!
I wonder what aircraft type the MAN based crew get checked out on and how long the contracts last for?

contracts are usually frm the date of ur training (march, april, may or june) until 31st october.
i'm pretty sure in MAN u are trained on all four aircraft. A320, A321, B757 and B767, even if u dont operate on them all. in your first year u may not get trained on 767 because u dont normally do any long haul in your first season. however, this year at gatwick some new starters did!!

So it could be that you only have a contract for 4 months, if you end up starting late. Do you normally get your contract renewed and just take a refresher course for the following season? That's providing you've been a good little girl/boy the previous season, and obviously due to Ops requirements?

yeh you're right if u do start later you would only be employed for about 4 months. to be honest, if you do everything right, have no days off sick, get good reviews throughout your time with FCA then you have a good chance of being invited back for the next summer season, be it as a PPY or as a temp again. its very difficult to say though, as the company seems to be changing a lot what with doing more long haul routes etc.

Hey everyone!
Has ony one applied for the Dublin base? Got an interview for the 11th January. If anyone could give some feedback about their UK interviews that would be really helpful! Ive never gone to a CC assessment before so I dont really know what to expect!

Cheers!

Hi guys...
I heard today that possibly FCA along with about 50% of First Choice Holidays business will most probably be sold to MyTravel or Thomas Cook. Anyone has anymore info?

The above post is not a statement of fact, but a rumour. At this time, there is no confirmed sale of FCA to anybody, merely expressions of interest and intent. Further information (the more accurate kind) is available on PPRuNe in various forums by using the "Search" facility

Hi how long does it normally take for first choice to get back to you if you are invited to an interview?

I applied a few weeks ago online, and heard nothing back apart from an email to say that they are currently processing the applications!!

Any help would be fab!! x
