CPDLC in France

Guys,

I would like to ask for some assistance please.
I am associated with a couple of business jets fitted with Garmin 3000 and I believe FANS 1/A VDL Mode 2 CPDLC. However these aircraft can log on to CPDLC across Europe except France.
Could you please suggest why you think the aircraft can not log on in France?

Thank you

MM

Check with DSNA, some of them need to add the aircraft on a "Whitelist".

I had a customer that had this issue, after speaking to the relevant authority, it was fixed, sadly I cannot recall which authority this particular aircraft was having issues with.

Thank you, they are both on the white list and work everywhere except France.

The answer to your question is in the question itself : France....before you ask I m French! Have the same issue ,brought it to the attention of different ATC units, none had an appropriate answer nor demonstrate the will to assist.

It looks like they are only starting to implement it at full operational level:

FANS 1/A VDL Mode 2 CPDLC

Does you AFM say anything about ATN-B1? In mainland Europe all of the ATC are using ATN with the exception of the Atlantic Coast countries which are using FANS1A and ATN-B1.

If your system is capable of ATN-B1, then it must be added to the Eurocontrol whitelist.

Mutt,

Thank you for your helpful answer. The AFM states;
The airplane ATC Data Link system has been demonstrated to comply with the applicable safety, performance and interoperability requirements of EUROCAE ED-120 (incl. change 1 and 2), ED-110B and the Commission Regulation (EC) No 29/2009, for continental ATN-B1 Data Link using VDL M2. The airplane ATC Data Link system does support multifrequency operation as defined in ARINC Spec. 631-5.

I will check what is registered with the white list as our CAMO have done it for us.
