Easy...

Easy to make a calculation,
just ask anybody in eurozone how much is their basic salary after tax, before own country possible contribution...so you will see how much it is the total amount of money taken out from portugal and UK.
So i will find out as well :)

south coast 29th Nov 2008 09:03

Happyjack, I think you are wrong with what you say regarding the percentages.

It depends on how much you earn as to what 'percentage band' you fall into.

eg. a captain will pay a smaller percentage, because it is a percentage of a larger salary/number, where as a FO and FA will payer a larger percentage because their total salary is less.

KUMOOZ 29th Nov 2008 10:36

The 5% figure comes from the contributions made for NJE pilots who are on a Portuguese 'Non Resident' contract, regardless of rank.
U.K Class A NI contributions are currently 11% of salary unless you earn less than 90 odd quid a week This is for guys on the U.K contract.
The other option is to take a Portuguese contract and pay NI and taxes locally in Portugal were the percentages for NI are very similar, as funnily enough are the net tax figures.
Now......back to the footy!

How was it?, Could you share some details about the assessment?

and most important: Which fleet? My bet is on the G-V...:)

Damianik 9th Dec 2008 22:34

Hawker 800XPC

Guys guys,
indoc is great...busy but company is real serious place to be and lots of professionals to speak to. We met director of flight ops and director of EU ops which is the big chief of all of us. ANyways
no GVs, no Falcons for anybody...cadets and ex Military and ex Airlines here, we all got Hawker800XPCs and Citations XLSs...
i was initially scheduled for 400XP but they changed before indoc cause those fleet are not flying at all almost because of complimentary upgrades given to owners to keep them as clients...so busy feet is always H800 and C.XLS....
Hopefully will be better in few months...but for now...no growth...
but company is well put for the storm...if it doestn last forever of course...
I am fine for anybody that cares...yes fred, this is for you!

...if it doestn last forever of course...

Was that added by you, or is it a quote of one of the managers ?

Cpt_Schmerzfrei 10th Dec 2008 06:51

Nice to hear that you enjoy it! Have fun! :-)

northern boy 10th Dec 2008 07:14

Spainfly, if this downturn lasts more than a couple of years then everyone is in the brown stuff, not just private aviation companies. Which is why every government in the world is trying like hell to fix it. Better hope that they succeed.

Damianik, welcome. Have fun. Where you going for the simulator?

On standby 10th Dec 2008 13:43

Damianik

Welcome to the XPC. I hope you enjoy NJE as much as I do.

Farnborough January....christmas i will go ski...since now it is snowing like hell up in the alps!!
Cheer up guys...it is christmas time!!

ADY 18th Dec 2008 05:45

I hope that new opportunities will be coming for anyone who wants to become pert of netjets. I think the situation will change pretty soon.

Iver 18th Dec 2008 12:58

Great job on the XPC! Very nice aeroplane. Nice Pro Line 21 up front and respectable range should give you some nice tours when the aeroplane is flying. Let's hope for a better economy in the medium term for us all!

Damianik 20th Dec 2008 23:38

Anyone knows why we arent getting the BOSE headset anymore , instead we got the Telex Airman 850? i love the telex but i think for NJ kind of planes the bose is more fully protecting your ears. ANR isnt saving your ears, it is just saving you from realizing how bad the noise is out there.
Telex's passive protecion is close to none...
D

EatMyShorts! 21st Dec 2008 01:50

Hi Damian,

the headsets are being assigned according to fleets. Only pilots on the Bravo and on the 1900 get the Bose X headset, all the others get the 850 supplied - for free! If your fleet has an approval for the Bose, go and buy one in the US, it is much cheaper there.

Hey, you just joined NJE, feel lucky that you have a quite safe job in these times...

CL300 21st Dec 2008 06:28

on top of it, only the same headsets are approved in the same flightdeck. ie two telex or 2 boses. In some fleets the bose is not even certified for use (2000 EASy for example). My advice is to use the company headset, ONLY !
Regarding the 850 it is a very good and quiet headset, in fact we do not hear the Flight attendant lol !!

EatMyShorts! 21st Dec 2008 12:26

CL300, don't write things that are not true... the 850 has a miserable ANR-function, compared to the Bose. The Bose is superb and I regularly pair up with people who use the Bose - never had *any* trouble on the intercom and/or radio. Never.

CL300 22nd Dec 2008 16:12

Well , I guess it is people sensitivity. It is so quiet FL410 and above.....

Brizeguy 24th Dec 2008 08:12

Lots of write ups in the tech log with x-talk problems on the XL fleet.
Usually caused by mis-match of headsets.
CL300 is correct!

Damian, your gonna fit in just great!
It won't be long before you want a pay rise and more Per Diems!
Just what we need, more pilots wanting more!!!

natops 24th Dec 2008 12:40

I want more as well!

No christmas present from NJE this year I guess?

A new watch or (small) suitcase will do..
Any more ideas for christmas presents?

N.:ok:

bArt2 25th Dec 2008 06:23

@Natops

Why not consider the fact that you have a job a christmas present.

Best wishes for 2009.

Greetings, Bart

Flintstone 25th Dec 2008 09:04

Meeeeow.

Why shouldn't you get a bonus? You think those in the corner offices and London won't?

Damianik 25th Dec 2008 21:25

Thanks, i think i will feel at home yes.

D

natops 26th Dec 2008 04:00

presents

I must agree with Flintstone of course.

Its great to have a job, but still nice to get a present as well!

bART don't you like presents?
Best wishes 2u2, consider that as gifts as well by the way!:ok:

lh840 2nd Jan 2009 22:19

Hey guys, I'm a little curious, so here's just a quick question after having read tons of pages about NJ here (thanks for all the useful information you provided =P), but how about flying non rev/standby with other (commercial) airlines on a private basis? Is it possible, you getting discount? I know LH pilots being able to fly standby with about 200 airlines, that's why I'm asking.

Happy New Year! And I hope that question is not misplaced in this particular thread.

redsnail 2nd Jan 2009 22:34

I think we can get access to Touchdown travel but I am not 100% sure.

The biggest problem is that because NJE can't offer standby travel to other airlines so it's difficult for other airlines to offer NJE crews a deal. A pity. :E

Affretage 3rd Jan 2009 02:27

Touchdown is the industry's joke. You might as well book full airlines fare. Private jet jockeys are not regarded as part of the airline club, so no discounts for you guys unless you fly tackle with a MTOW of 75T or more. :=

Denti 3rd Jan 2009 07:44

Has nothing to do with MTOW, but all with interlining which requires that all participants can use the others transportation service for certain reduced fees. That is very very difficult to achieve for all business companies although i heard that dc aviation has now some interlining with a couple airlines, including lufty.

Taxi2parking 3rd Jan 2009 07:48

No Denti, Affretage is right - the size of your tackle is important....mine's only 31.6T MTOW - and I now feel somehow inadequate, should I see a doctor?:p

redsnail 3rd Jan 2009 09:27

Taxi2Parking, ahhh, 12.8 tonnes wasn't enough hey? :E

Taxi2parking 3rd Jan 2009 09:45

...well to be honest I have been having a few complaints from Mrs T recently....

haughtney1 3rd Jan 2009 10:59

I've gone from 186.6 tonnes to 24 tonnes, should I feel inadequate? (not driving for netjets:} )
FWIW, my company gets ID90's on certain carriers out of our base :ok:

KUMOOZ 3rd Jan 2009 15:40

H1
I still reckon you weigh closer to 186tons or is that an exceptional diet you have been on? :ok:
Did you get those trouser legs sewn back on yet?
Happy new year mucker.

Damianik 3rd Jan 2009 20:33

74.990 down to 12.8...yes Red, i am on your fleet.
But even when i was 75T i didnt have any sort of discount...because as somebody said, it all depends on exchanging favours with other airlines and MOL wasnt really a fan of that.

So no big deal for me.

D

redsnail 3rd Jan 2009 21:13

Damian, buon giorno. Best fleet. Even T2P will agree although he's probably trying to work out the joy sticky thing. :E

haughtney1 4th Jan 2009 09:26

Sorry, thread drift....

Welcome to "The" fleet Damian. We'll meet someday over a beer. I'm easy to recognise...
I'll be the one running for the bar after checking into the hotel after a working day.

Redsnail will probably be in my trail :}
