Airport hub for corporate jets

By SOMAN BABY

TRANSPORTATION Minister Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa is to open the BD750,000 Bahrain Executive Air Services Company (Bexair) terminal at Bahrain International Airport today.

It will mark the launch of Bexair's executive aviation corporate jet services in the Gulf region.

The VIP terminal, designed by Mohammed Salahuddin Consulting Engineering Bureau and built by Chapo, is a small part of the $85 million (BD32.13m) investment envisaged for Bexair.

The Executive Aviation Terminal and Fixed Base Operations (FBO) facility has been built at a cost of BD750,000 and is part of the first phase of preparations for Bexair operations.

The terminal facilities include VIP lounges, meeting rooms and other FBO services as well as customs, security and immigration clearance facilities.

Bexair is a Bahrain registered company promoted by the Saudi-based Arabian Support and Services Company (ASASCO).

The operations will focus on providing VIP charter operations, aircraft management and related services.

Two types of aircraft, Cessna Citation Excel and Bombardier Challenger- 604 will be used for the initial operations.

"After extensive research, the company has selected Bahrain International Airport as the base for its operations. given the country's unique geographical location," said chairman and chief executive officer Mansour Al Tassan.

"Moreover, Bahrain is a financial centre and has a healthy and fast-growing corporate and multi-national sector.

"We are confident that this service will benefit busy executives because it gives them great flexibility in scheduling appointments and they will not have to rely on commercial airline schedules."

The new venture, said a spokesman, is seen as the result of Shaikh Ali's declaration on liberalisation and open skies policy in the Bahrain aviation sector.

"There has been overwhelming response to the company's announcement of its trial services with several companies booking its services in advance," he added.

"We have received immense interest, especially at the recent Dubai Air Show and are confident that the months ahead will see Bexair building on this interest despite the tensions in the aviation industry worldwide."

Bahrain Biz Jet Operator.

Fakawi,

4 holerpoler seems to have detected some ulterior motive on my part.

BEXAIR is not my company and I was not trying to "tow a banner"

It seemed entirely logical to give the contact details so that persons like you and others could make direct enquiries to the operator about possible job opportunities.

Give them a call on their website, sorry I can't give you the details,
might cause offence.

Sandcastle,

I can't seem to find Bexair's website, could you email me the address please.

Thanks

funny, I thought the idea of this site was to help each other with information, not eliminate the competition; must have got it wrong.....

Do me a favour sandcastle - email me a short note confirming that you have no affiliation with Bexair - that'll set my heart at rest that you had no motive in gaining free air-time for what, I agree, is an exciting venture.

You'll forgive me for seeming inquisitive that you might possibly have an affiliation with this company, listing yourself as an aviation executive based in Bahrain. Pure coincidence, I'm sure.

Now bang off that email to me please. Can't get the Bexair website to load either - any assistance greatly appreciated.

Regards

Bexair

4 holerpoler,

Just to confirm I,

a. don't work for Bexair,
b. don't have a stake in it,
c. don't represent them in any way.

I work for a Government organisation and have watched Bexair develop their project over the past 12/18 months.

As a regular "pprune watcher/reader", I tought my posting was in line with some of the objects of the Forum, i.e. to inform and to highlight opportunities, particularly those of interest to the pilot community.

I could not open their website this morning and will call them to see what is wrong, in the meantime, their email address is available.

Some additional information, Bexair, in addition to owning and operating its own aircraft, is also in the business of managing other owners aircraft. They are planning to build some acft shelters, (almost hangars) at BAH to accomodate up to 10/15 acft - bear in mind that summer temperatures here can reach 46/49c.

looks like they forgot to upload their website properly - the index page is missing....not the sort of mistake a pilot would EVER make!!!

Latte tester 7th May 2002 15:14

Fakawi, be careful if you are thinking of this company for employment. They don't pay well, work you really hard and the rotation in and out of country is not great. The last person that I know of who went to work as a F/O on the 604 was offered and accepted US$3500/month, 11 months on one off. To me, that's "stay home money".
Time spent in recce is seldom wasted.

Bexair Citation Job

Was looking into flying a Bravo for this company. Seems they are expanding but was horrified form some of the posts I read. What is going on at this place? From what I understand this position would be in Moscow. Any idea if and what they pay? Would really appreciate it. Thanks

Kopeloi 4th Nov 2004 07:05

At past lot of crews left due the problems with salary and expense payments. Donīt know if they try to use similar tricks. Management is still the same. Airplanes are great and flying good.
But be warned....

ANyone please give me some specifics as I am really looking into this job but sure as hell don't want to go over there if they screw with the crew.

Kopeloi 5th Nov 2004 06:17

Simply read the previous threads and make up your own mind.
If there is a large number of unpaid crews around I would assume that the same could happen to you with them.....

bluesafrica 5th Nov 2004 07:14

You can always ask them how many from they recent crews have stayed longer than 6 months with them?

tomcat21 5th Nov 2004 15:21

Bexair

Well I cannot understand if this is all true than how they are able to keep ANY pilots at all. As far as specifics I didn't mean names I meant I wanted an example, like say so and so did a trip and had to pay for their own hotels, never got the money back, etc. There was one guy saying he hasn't been paid since Feb and it was July when he posted. I cannot understand why he would not quit back in March??

Pilocol 6th Nov 2004 11:12

Bexair

tomcat21, you said....
(There was one guy saying he hasn't been paid since Feb and it was July when he posted. I cannot understand why he would not quit back in March??)

That guy was me... is not that I was not paid since February, it was that I did quit in March and I did not get paid for February till the first week of August...there where a lot of alegations about me owing the company for this and for that...Not true!!

There is a cuple of friends working for them, and the stories are scary... once they get you to the point that they owe you a good amount of money, you will not leave .... why.... because you will not see you money ever again.... be careful..
How do they get to owe you ???? Some times you go on a trip and there is no float money for the plane, you will use your own to pay for the Hotel, food, transportation and some times even for the G.H.

Keep it safe.;)

I am sorry to hear that! I would love to hear some of these stories. The way I am thinking now is I need to have some sort of insurance that I won't get screwed. Pm me if you can and I'll tell ya what I have in mind. Thanks,

Bexair- beware

Tomcat21- one word of advice, don't touch this company with a bargepole.

I am a highly experienced corporate flight attendant whom they employed recently to be their chief flight attendant. I did a runner after 2 weeks, I cant even begin to describe how disorganised and crap the whole deal was, and to this day never got paid my allowances and salary despite what they told me. My 6 foot 5 inch boyfriend even paid them a visit at their Bahrain office wanting to know where was my cheque.... which still to this day was never paid...moral of the story FORGET THEM They are a disaster zone!!

I would have went in there with an M-60 with a hell of a lot of clips! That is a disgrace. Yeah, I think my mind is made up now. Why would they due this? They offered me a deal to fly their Citation Bravo, I spoke to the owner and also this guy named Vincent. Seemed pretty nice so thats why when I read all this I was in shock. I mean how do they intend to keep anyone? Would love to hear how disorganized they were. Thanks alot.

Bumz_Rush 10th Nov 2004 11:04

Vincent still there.???

I am surprised he is still there...But perhaps they pay him on time.

Totally disorganised.

Do they have a fully approved AOC. YeT.

Anyone who touches them with a barge pole deserves help......

Bumz

mooguy 11th Nov 2004 00:19

Bexair

Yeah-to add to what Bumz_Rush says, Anyone who touches them with a bargepole needs a spell in a straight jacket!

Oh yeah they are very nice to you when they want you, then you'll get stuck awaiting your pay, I could see the writing on the wall, been in this game too long, and left. So after 2 weeks only I didnt lose out that much money. forget Vincent, he's useless. I was working on the challenger and the disorganisation unbelievable, wouldnt know where to start with the examples, was in downtown kuwait munching on a shawarma given like 20 mins to race back and check out of the hotel...which we did, thought i was gonna have heart attack i was running, then we go to airport, lead pax walked on the plane sat down, heard that we had to refuel on route to luton and stormed off, he'd been f***ed round once too often by bexair, so back we all trot to hotel. Then amidst all the flying we all have to do essay style reports on why it happended as the company lost $200k from this client cancelling, blah blah phone calls at all hours about it, big witchhunt. This was a typical working day there, and I was supposed to go in on my days off and reinvent menus.....all for measly salary of $1500 per month and $50/60 per day perdiems. I was led to believe I would be based in bahrain and not flying much, which suited as my boyfriend works 45 mins across border in BAE dhahran....then last I heard it was becoming moscow based? Thats when I said "Masalama habibi"!!

I've worked for saudi royalty, Middle eastern PMs, private familys in middle east etc, this experience put me off flying, I'd rather work in Mcdonalds or an abbatoir than Bexair!! DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!

TiroP 11th Nov 2004 07:35

Mooguy. Good post, and sounds like just another (normal?) day at bexair. Management should send a team to Braemar. They'd win the caber event outright.

You should be able to find some earlier threads about Bexair. They seem to have some serious problems to keep their promises.Lot of crews left unpaid.

Hello fellow ppruners, i need information concerning Bexair, i have read all the previous posts which they sound alarming, but since they are not very recent i would appreciate any info on their current status, to make a sound decision since i have a job offer with them.
Thanks and safe flying

They have new young ops director an ex gulf air captain. Admits to all previous failings and claims to be putting things right ! Told me they had a new investor. For your two months on you are ob the road with the plane and very rarely ever get to Bahrain. You would fly 80-90 hours a month (on overtime over 70 !!) - you need it. Might work for a single guy
