Citation accident Zurich
Arrived at Zurich on Monday and saw what looked like a Citation in the grass underrun of 16. Appeared to have landed short of 14 and veered sharply right across the grass. The hull looked intact.
Anyone got anything to add?

What was your immediate thought when you read the title dewdrop?
What would've been your reaction if a relative of yours flew Citations in Switzerland?
Maybe...something like "Citation Underrun in Zurich"? would have been a little more thoughtful don't you think?

I think the suitable response is let’s hope all involved are ok.
LGW - the fact that the aircraft “Appeared to have landed short of 14 and veered sharply right across the grass” I would class this as an accident, therefore the title is justified. People do not have to be injured or died for it to be classed as an accident!!

A/C came in from MAD, 3 Pax, 2 crew; all walked out of a/c by them self’s. The Citation landed short of 14, may have tried to execute a swing over as I understood. Full scale alarm was accidentally issued, mobilizing the entire airport emergency staff and that of surrounding communities; hence airport was closed for 30 min.
Like I said some damaged aluminium and ego but all are well up.
cheers.

Some pictures, taken from the fence and a jumpseat (LX ER4) in a Swiss pilots and aviation forum: > here < (in German)
Also some speculations on the influence of strong, local showers of snow and 060/15kts crosswind on the landing in this thread...

Well I'll give you guys some more info about what happend.
I was the last aircraft into ZRH before the Citation. At aprox 1000 AGL we incounterd +SNSH. We started seeing the appr-lights at about 350 ft. At 200 AGL we had 20 kts left x-wind. At touchdown 16 kts. I'd say a local TS?!?! No gusts no WS alert from the onboard computers. We (praise the lord) maid an uneventfull landing and half way down the rwy we wore in the clear, with good vis. Nothing was said on ATIS about the local condisions on the rwy (14) in question. Buy the way swingovers to 16 are not aloud any more.
Two days later I was brought in for questioning by the local Accident Investigation Team. After answering alot of there questions I had a couple of my own. Anyways what I found out was, two crew offcourse, and one pax. All walked away. They flew coupled down the ILS. They hit the appr. light system busted one of the main gears then got it in the air again and down in the grass right of the rwy, well you've seen the pics. One strange qustion that thay did have for me was "did you notice anything diffrent with their radio procedures?". And yes we did, very unproffessional. But what does that have to do with it ( I have no idea)..... After a 20 minute hold over ekrit who wouldent be pissed
