Certainly no disrespect meant here Tony but, if I was the buyer, I would look out for receiving information from people who weren't fully up to speed with what they're talking about.
He doesn't want to be making a purchase of between US$15 and US$20 Million with that decision being made courtesy of a forum.
Suggest you and him look up some serious, knowledgeable but independent sources. It sounds like he's either got cash to burn or he's A1 in bovine excrement!
I'll use those same old words if I may..send me a PM me if you feel the need!

end of thread?
As a driver of both types, i would be interested to see the outcome of this debate.
My view is the CL has a spacious cockpit, with crew comfort as a key selling point.
In the G4 my bum is too big.
I am sure that there are other factors, but hell I sit in it, so I have an interest too.

My experience with the G4 is limited but I would suggest that your buyer take both out for spin. Both companies would jump at the chance to show off their product. My own perspective is that the 604 cockpit is much nicer for the pilot with less workload. The back end is longer in the G4 with nicer windows (always the Gulfstream selling point)but the 604 is wide and comfy for long haul trips requiring a mix of rest and business and is somewhat cheaper to buy and run. If range is an issue check out the Global 5000 as a competitor to the G4. It is being marketed as a direct competitor to the G4 and might be worth a peek. Good luck and beware the snake-oil salesman.

If ultimate range isn't high on your list, there is a "Challenger" variant with stacks of real stand-up headroom. The executive version of the RJ-200 (ex "SE", now "Challenger 800") is great to fly in as self-loading freight. We had one as a company shuttle until they took it away to replace a GX - beautiful, quiet & real cheap to operate - and you can go almost anywhere & find qualified, current support & spares as the base RJ is fast becoming the 21st Century Dakota.
Install a HGS and get assured timekeeping with low visibility takeoff & CAT III capabilities plus much improved situational awareness that's worth its cost alone in increased safety.
