French Currency
Pierre has decided that all travellers into France, will be subject to the requlation that requires the declaration of funds in excess of $8,236. There is no exemptions. Even aircraft funds undeclared are liable to attract fines.
War against executive jets is politically correct.

This is not a new requirement and is satisfied by the completion of a simple form (yes available in English). There is no charge; I've seen large amounts of currency taken in, with no restriction other than the requirement to declare it. To ignore this issue is courting trouble. The Plods at Le Bourget are enforcing this edict aggressively. It's that time of year again.

I was of the understanding that the "emergency get out of here cash" which many operators keep with their aircraft, remained secured on the aircraft at all times.
If that is the case, then the cash never passes through immigration and thus never enters the country.
If on the other hand, the Captain stuffs the wad into his back pocket before transfer to the hotel, I would be more worried about the security of such a large ammount of cash!!!

DFC - you're spot on. If the money remains on board the aircraft there is no issue. The consideration is for the importation of funds in excess of the stated amount.
Mzee - if you're desperate PM a fax number & I'll send you a copy. My versions are not originals but have also been copied. Best option is call any of the handlers at LBG & they'll send you good copies of the form.
