Emmigration, The best option?
OK so the climate is rubbish, taxes high and about to get higher(NI) and there are better places to fly in the world.
I, a lowly mep pilot, am seriously thinking about selling up here and moving myself and my family to warmer climes.
The question I have for any of you Biz/GA guys and girls who may have "been there" is, is the grass really greener on the other side? The Caribbean seems like an ideal choice but would a piston air charter job pay enough to support a family of 4?
Any ideas on where and what sort of salary to expect?
Thanks to you all

Hi there busterplane. I have thought of doing the same and tried a few companies in the carribean, even one where one of my students has an uncle who is chief pilot and recommended me, but all without success as yet. From what I hear the cost of living does vary and the pay is never that good. But then you never know really until you have some kind of contract. Plus there is the added bonus of the wonderful weather and when I was out in Barbados last year the people are so incredibly friendly it makes you want to stay regardless of the salary. I will keep on trying, the only concern I have is what visas are required. Do you know anything about this, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Good luck and when I posted a similar question the advice was to go back over the threads and find the names of companies and mail them a CV. All the best.
