One more NetJets question
I know, we've been through this several times, but I'm trying to get a clear idea of what NetJets Europe is ll about.
I am very familiar with the US operation, but I understand the European one is much different.
First, do you really get the 6on-5off schedule?
I would commute from Venice, Italy (or Milan), would that be acceptable and is the time to and from the getaway paid?
There seem to be quite a few different pay structures, what should I expect to get as an FO?
With 3500 hours total and 2000 jet (EMB145), am I competitive?

I donīt work for NetJets but Iīve done some research. Here is what i could come up with:
First, you will need a european passport and ATPL.
Minimum hours are 1500 TT so you should be fine.
I understand their preference is for typerated pilots (citation, hawker, falcon). They have hired non rated pilots though and most likely will have to do so in the future.
They will try and give you 6on/5off, but itīs not guaranteed.
You can be based at any (major) internatianal airport in europe.
Travel to and from duty will be within your days on. Days off are at homebase.
Finally, F/O salary is around 40,5 k euros/year. Not sure about captains pay. Propably around 60k. You can choose where your money is paid, so taxes are your business, as I understand.
They have some sort of medical and dental insurance aswell as a savings plan/retirement scheme.

Thank you 733 driver. I have indeed a EU passport (Italian, to be precise)and almost done with my JAA license.
although the pay is not the best, I still think NJ beats many airlines, especially in Italy.
since I'm not very familiar with the uropean market, what are your thoughts about the company?

Iīve been thinking to apply for a while now. There are several reasons why I havenīt so far:
I currently have a pretty good job flying 737s for a scheduled airline. There is a pretty good chance that airline will be expanding next year : more airplanes more routes and most importantly good chances for a quick command within the next two years.
Also, as you propably have read here on this forum, not everyone seems to be happy at NJE these days. I canīt say whether these are personal issues or general shortcomings of the company, though.
I still think itīs a great type of flying NetJets offers: Every day is different, unlimited destinations, nice, new aircraft...
Also itīs a very big company with a strong financial background.
One fellow pilot who had also flown scheduled before and then flew for a similar fractional operator told me that the flight ops standards in this particular company didnīt even come close to what he was used to flying for the airlines.
Flying for the airlines is propably not as much fun as flying for Netjets but it maybe smart for me to stay put, wait till I have some jet command time and take it from there. I wouldnīt be able to join Netjets as a captain now, anyway. (fairly low time, no PIC time).
For someone flying in GA it certainly is a great move, I think, as we all knowīthere are only very few very attractive GA jobs around (as maybe flying for a large corporate flight departement).
Canīt really say a lot about the airline industry in italy, so itīs hard to give any advice.
I think it all comes down to where you are at in your career and where you want to go. If you ultimately want an airline career than NetJets might not be the smartest move.
Oh, and as far as pay structure is concerned: I understand itīs now a very straight forward system where everyone on a certain fleet getīs paid the same regardless of previous experience.
They bond you for three years if you are not typerated.
