Expired type rating
If you have an expired type rating (small GA jet type) on your UK CAA license, and it expired less than 3 years ago: do you have to do training as required, LPC, and you're good to go?

CAE and FSi have a matrix of how long your rating has expired for - you should not need to do a full rating, but a recurrent + 1 or 2 sessions maximum. Depending on what type you have you may find another perfectly good ATO to do it for significantly less.
Costs will be quite extortionate, as they seem to just make up a price for private individuals as their only interest is operators, who pass in the costs to their managed aircraft or customers.

this is patently untrue. As mentioned, the sim duopoly have a matrix which can accommodate training up to seven years since expiry of the rating /IR.

Try 100k GBP for renewal of a 2 year expired GV rating!
How many expletives do you think I harbour for these thieves?
I have no hesitation in stating FS FAB!

Both C and F negotiate sole source for OEM data packs to ensure no competition and hense the high prices. A and B are now doing similar by pricing their datapacks at crazy prices to effectively kill off independent ATOs.

The FCL allows you to do a sole checkride to revalidate your rating and IR… then you ask for that alone, only to get the aforementioned matrix shoved in your face with the quickest solution (and cheapest) starting as a full recurrent… followed by the adding on of sim sessions and ending in full course. Its a ripoff holding you hostage to the big players who ignore what the FCL says. “Take it or leave it” they dont care.
