B727/BBJ Maintenance in UK

I have just come back from an interesting meeting with BASCO (Bournemouth Aviation Services Company). For those interested in the maintenance of their aircraft in the UK, this is a new setup with the backing of Singapore Technologies.

They have set up a maintenence organisation in Bournemouth with a 5 bay hangar with B727 and B737 all series (except -200) approvals with Airbus approvals on the way. They are entering the corporate market and are putting in massive amounts of investment. They can offer the usual maintenance up to a 'D' check. They also offer 24/7 telephone support and worldwide support through the other facilities around the world. They also do interiors!

Looks like Jet Aviation and Lufthansa have some competition now.

At least you can guarentee getting in on an ILS into Bournemouth when you need some work done.

I can only say good things about the Bournemouth set-up. I took a 727 into the facility a few months back and they did a great job. The man to deal with is Trevor Goodman.
