Comments on Avidyne refit please

Guys,

I have been asked to comment on an Avidyne 550 fit for a small business jet and I know nothing about it. I would like to ask for any comments please?

Thank you

MM

Sorry, I do not have first hand experience with this kit. However, at first glance, it appears to be an add on and not a stand alone EFI solution. The display is not a PFD. I would much prefer having all that info on the PFDs (plus an MFD) like in the Garmin 3000 or 5000 for example. I saw on the Garmin site that they now offer G5000 retrofits for, for example, the XL(S) and the Beechjet/Hawker 400. That would be a very nice, albeit probably much more expensive , solution. The Garmin Connext weather is also very nice to have. It gets you amongst other things downloaded radar pictures as well as lightning information. What model light jet are we talking here?
