FAA Questioning

HI All,

Im new to the forum, I have recently been requested to be interviewed by the FAA.

The request was vague but its now officially a formal request to come to be interviewed in Dallas.

I was a pilot at Zetta Jet before and since then been flying P91 ex Miami.

Any advice or guidance, I assume its Zetta related but any advice so I don't get a shock.

Cheers Mothy

FYI:
The FAA is investigating a number of allegations about the company, its ownership, and its operations!
https://www.bjtonline.com/business-j...-jets-collapse
... claimed the company’s “director of sales was bumping and adding not only blindly but falsely [flight] hours to pilots, in order to pass Wyvern and Argus trip checks.”

As usual the FAA is lacking in oversight and chasing after the facts after the company has gone out of business.
Take a good look at the letter.
Are you subject of an investigation?
Are you suspected of breaking regulations?
Are you to travel at your own expenses for what exactly?
What are the consequences if you can’t make yourself available? They can do a phone conference call with your attorney or forward their questions to a FSDO local to you.
I would certainly get the opinion of an attorney if not outright bring one with you.
Anytjing you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
You don’t get invited for coffee and cookies because they’ve heard you’re a great guy.
Read the letter again, get council and do not be naive when you deal with the FAA.

Hi Avionimc, Yeah well I can tell you we have FO's with next to no time doing trips which I'm sure required FO's with a lot more not only total time, but also time on type. Don't get me wrong they were good kids, but they were as green as they come.

Hi B2N2

Thanks for the great pointers and advice I have reached out to the AOPA, and on Monday will reach out to a recommended lawyer. Im all for justice, but at the same time I do not want to be dragged into a mess where I am going to burn my tail.

Will keep you all posted.

Cheers
Mothy

Was the letter send by certified mail?
Are they asking you to voluntarily answer questions?
As you can tell I’d love to see this letter.

If they’ve made form errors your lawyer will have some fun with them.

Again, do not underestimate the FAA.
If you flew as PIC you may become victim to something your Chief Pilot omitted such as required checks or orals or written tests under Part 135.

Seriously, treat this like you’ve had a call from the Homicide division asking if you can come “by the station to answer some questions”.

Again, do NOT underestimate the FAA.
They’re a paper tiger in the face of large companies or politics but won’t hesitate to chew up and spit out a single pilot and potentially kill a career.

If you find yourself under ‘investigation’ you’re practically radioactive as far as employment is concerned and it may take 12-18 months for your name to be cleared.

Ask me how I know.....

Be very careful about what you post on the net.......

A former pilot for the operator, (zetta) which made its mark with uber-luxury ultra long-haul Bombardier Global Express private jets, last week posted on a website for pilots (above) that the FAA wants to interview him.

The original article is I believe from The Australian.
