Galapagos Visit

Gents

Im planning a trip to the Galapagos Islands.

I know we have to clear immigration and customs in Ecuador on the way in and out of the Islands.

I know we have to disinsect the aircraft before going to the island.

I know there is no fuel.

But any local knowledge or useful tips..

for example, can the aircraft and crew stay one or maybe two nights - or do we have to come in, drop the pax off and leave?

If we are meeting up with a yacht, which Island is best?

Which Handlers are the best?..

Which International Airport on the Mainland is most efficient for private flights..

Anyone with any experience here please can you offer me any advice?

Thank you.

It’s been a few years but I went into San Christobal island to drop pax for their yacht charter. Cleared Equadorian customs at Guayaquil which was easy enough. Crew stayed on the island in the small village there near the airport. Accommodations are “rustic”. I don’t remember who our handler was...someone local.... but no fuel and not much for them to arrange except pax/luggage transfer.

Interesting place to visit.

Galapagos

Good Morning:

We used SEGU / Guayaquil for desinfection and customs control.
Easy in and out.

@disinfection: plan ca 2hrs for the procedure. cabin will be sprayed and doors closed thereafter for up to 2hrs.
certificate is valid for a few weeks, so keep it for the next flight, when you pick up your boss.

@ customs: all bags will be screened

We used SEGS to meet the yacht.
very small airport - absolute no long term parking. (space for two or three aircrafts on the apron). local handling works ok, although a little slow...., but thats the way in the south...

SEST: appearently come crews managed to get parking on SEST, but i have no more intel on this.

Attention: when leaving, Ecuador, all bags have to be screened again in SEGU. customs wants to see all bags on the ramp, to check for forbidden substances... (dogs used) (nearly) no way to avoid...

greets
welle
